  • I was hoping to get my mortgage down to 73K by the end of the year, it will be 74K now, considering I started with £84, 500 in March I'm really pleased with that. With the things I have to pay out for in 2007 including a car I'm hoping to make it to 66K not a huge chunk paid off but will help all the same!

£10k in 9 months is not to be sniffed at HQ :T

I can't believe you've made that bigger diff in that small amount of time well done you  I won't be able to match it next year but will hope to get at least half that. That's the goal I've set for next year to pay £5k off the morgage. Now to put it into practice :D

wow, some great saving going on, despite christmas being upon us all!

I advertised some bottles of whisky/brandy etc (that were filing up my cupboard that wouldn't be drunk by us) at work, and had them taken off my hands quick sharp for a nice £40.:j hence my £40 overpayment done this morning!!

Nearing the top of my endless whisky bottle (coppers and odd 5p and 10p in it), and £2 coin jar filling up nicely (although this may be converted to a flooring fund-beige carpet put down by previous owners, does not remain clean with my 4 and 2yr olds!!)

    happy shopping, and mortgage piggin!

I've just read through the 48 pages of this thread (took me a while!) and I'm going to buy a pig asap! I'm a student, and so it wont be a mortgage free pig, but a loan free pig instead, but I LOVE the idea! :)

£8000 IS a HUGE chunk of money... I wouldn't say no if someone offered me it!!!!

Don't diss your efforts anything extra is a bonus.. as I said to my hubby.. 1p isn't 1p when you add it to your mortgage it is so much more! and every pound makes a massive difference.

I'm joining this one in the new year. I was in the £2 club but it's changing to a £2 mortgage/loans pig :rotfl:

I was thinking of buying a Pigsback Pig with points, but not sure I want the money on display.. how does a papier mache one sound? I'm sure my DS can help 'decorate' it :rotfl:

  • Hi HQ and all

Well done on the years overpayments HQ :T . pigpen I should decorate a jar with xmas paper and use that:D

Our £110 per month overpayments start in January this will take over 5 years off the mortgage. The money we have saved in the pig so far £267 will have to be used for the wedding fund as OH went on one knee last week!!:heartsmil

Well done all on the piggy saving this year and may we all achieve out targets in 2007
