Love it, love it, love it. Guess what my little girl will be papier mache-ing tomorrow then?? This will initially go to help clear debt, which should hopefully be done by end April, then to contribute towards a moving fund.
Yet another great idea....:beer:Trying to tidy and clean while the kids are still growing, is like trying to clear snow even though it's still snowing
£2 coin savings= £60 -
In case anyone is still looking for a name for their pig..........my 6 year old suggested 'toad'.
:rotfl: I'm sure it made perfect sense to her.
As I've just mentioned on a thread in DT, I didn't buy the cheapie Empire tent from the Grabbit board and I stuck the money in Herman instead.
I'm good at this now.
(Although it took long enough)
Have you all found prominant places for your pigs? They need to be frequently in your line of sight.
My Mum used to say that 'money goes to money' and I think it may be true.
I've had loads of wee 'one-off' type boosts recently from various sources that have all gone to Herman, from little things like a very washed out crumpled £5 note that OH didn't know he had in his pocket and it went through a wash cycle and came out the other side perfectly usuable still.....to a refund on an insurance thing I took out when I bought my suite. As I haven't claimed on the policy, I can now get the policy purchase price refunded. (£175) Herman better make space. It's money I didn't have so I'm just going to try to ignore the fact I've got it and Herman/mortgage it instead.

I love this idea!! :j
Went out at lunchtime yesterday and brought Betty home (from a pound shop, there was quite a big litter! and she is worth every penny). She is already dreaming of a trip to New Zeaand, but I have to be firm with her and make her promise that the mortgage comes first! Thanks for the inspiration and motivation, I really really needed it :T
p.s.: transferred spare change from my old jukebox tin, which is now for foreign coins only. Betty is already looking well fed! Checked with my mortgage provider as well, and they have given me an account number and sort code which I can pay extra money into with no penalty, yay!0 -
Excellent!
Hope Betty settles in nicely.Herman - MP for all!0 -
Great thread!
A couple of days ago our family was discussing the future of Seamus, my china pig with a tail like a shamrock who's been with me for at least 30yrs. He's obviously about to take on a new lease of life...£2 saving: 2.5 cm in the bottom of a 500ml sprite bottle - not counting but might weigh from time to time...0 -
Well, I've only gawn and ordered my piggy from pigsback
Now I know where to put all the notes/change that OH empties out of his pockets every evening and leaves all over the place!
Great thread!

Grrr! Still got to wait a week to be able to order pigsback piggy!!!
However I did end up £10 better off (and hopefully a 1000 points) better off playing bingo so 'the pig' will be munching on a crisp tenner as its extra hog food i didn't expect to have!0 -
Hats off to aliasojo for this brilliant idea...It has been really worth it joining MSE as I have been really looking after the pennies more than before....I shall get myself a pig as well....Sealed Pot Challenge 2012 #1502:)
