My pig (Homer) is going to have to move out of the kitchen and into the lounge - I can't seem to make a ham sandwich around him without feeling guilty
It's true that you get a bit attached to them, lolEek! Someone's stolen my signature! :eek:0 -

Thanks ali, while I can do it I'm throwing everything I can at it. Theres got to be a time when I don't have any work or stuff to sell but at the moment every little helps, I got an email this morning to say I've sold annother book on amazon, so going to put that towards september as I won't be able to get it into the bank this month by the time I have been transferred the money - so not as bad as starting again with a nought!0

comicmankev wrote:I just paid in 5 bags into Abbey. They don't usually care if it's not too busy. I just think that rule is totally insane! It's money, and they are a bank! It really shouldnt matter if it takes all day to count someone 1000 bags of 1ps, it is ridiculous!
Last one I saw that was equally as good, was in Halifax. Apparently, you cannot withdraw less than £300 at the counter????? So your not allowed to get your money!!! You can use the ATM, and if thats not working, go somewhere else!
goto the nationwide, they wont accept coins unless bagged up, and full! and you can only payin 5 bags a day. if you have a child pay it in their account, there are no rules there! apparently its because they have to bank it at the end of the day??? isnt that the whole point of a bank/building society???
when the girl said i couldnt pay it in, i just tipped it out and said oh, you'll have to count it now. i dont think they like me anymore though :rotfl:
the natwest are great though, just take half full bags and they have things called scales, the then weigh the money and pay it in your account, i always double check how much im payin in before i leave home, and have it written down!Debt at highest (april 2005) £19000
Current Debt (september 2006) £7600
Mortgage Pig = £31.43 and we move in on Friday (6/10/06)

Well done HQ on this months overpaying. My Piggies (oops I got him a wife off of pigsback;) ) are quite full. I can't wait to empty them on the 31st. I'm using the extra pig for all the coppers that get put in. I'm lucky that I can swap all my change at work as i know some banks are awkward.

hi guys, i'm new to this site but already loving it!
i have a pig that's sat in my spare room for years now gathering dust, so i'm going to try and persuade my more sceptical husband to do this and see how we get on
we're just in the process of changing our bank a/cs (thanks to advise from MSE!) so things might take a few weeks to settle down and then we can start saving in earnest! You'll never see a rainbow if you don't first put up with the rain . . . :happylove0
