Have just got back from spending a few days at my mums, and whilst we were there, we did a car boot sale, and i made £20 to put in my pig!!!! So, worth the trip!!!!!
  • Well a couple of my things flew on ebay so I think I may end up with over £150 from my sales. Really pleased with that!

Well I couldn't resist counting Flossie, she is 17 days old today and she is holding £22.17, plus a £76.18 cheque I banked into the overpayment account, a total of £98.35, so will easier make over £100 this month.

We saw our FA on Monday who has suggested we only overpay by £150 a month into the mortgage (just to reduce the balance), with the remainder of the repayment figure (we're on interest only) going into an Equity ISA. The performance on the one they use should produce at around 9%, but over the last 10 years has produced 28%.

We're also changing bank accounts in September to A&L so £100 bonus there and access to their Deposit Account, which I will also send month to every month to save for the elusive baby.

I have also applied for AmEx Platimum and Morgan Stanley Visa to use to pay for my hotels and Petrol while I'm away with work - cashback from them will be used for saving/mortgage.

All of these extras will then go into our ISA. We have decided we don't want to pay it off too quickly - not that there is any danger of that at the moment considering it is £192.5K over 24.5 years (new in January), just want to reduce the amount of interest we give to the bank.

HQ you are an inspiration - my DH is out all night Friday so I'm going to raid my bookshelf and other junk cupboards and list loads on eBay. I'm itching to get going again as I sold loads of things on there a few years ago to help pay for our wedding, probably cleared £1,000. Not expecting anywhere near that much again, but "every little helps".
  • Thanks welshlassie!! Glad flossie has eaten so well, its been quiet for a week and then more money than I thought I'd raise will be coming in! I'm really pleased with how its going, just hope it will keep on this way!
  • Fantastic! Brilliant and wonderful, what a great idea, consider it stolen. The idea not Herman.
    Waddle you do eh?
  • Hello Greenstuff =- glad you haven't stolen Herman!
  • It's Pay Day....Yippee!!
and thanks to some overtime I did this month I'm off to pay another £500 off my mortgage today :j
It's a drop in the ocean... but every little helps
It's not how much you earn..... It's what you do with it.....
  • Thats great Suzie!
I'm still refreshing my ebay pages and watching the prices creep up!
