thanks Pavlov - I've got my brain ticking over most of the time now in how i can raise extra cash to pay a bit more off. I'm really shocked at the amounts I have been able to drum up in the last couple of months, first month was about £150. I've been trying to turn all my unwanted junk into cash, found some more that I'm hoping to sell soon! I've sold books on Amazon, i think I've registered for most of the survey sites to get cash/vouchers/freebies. Ebay has been graced with my presence once again and I managed to pick up a couple of odd jobs that may become a regular thing. Luckily for me two impulse buys I wasn't very happy with broke down so i was able to get full refunds on them (didn't sabotage them!) which helped as well.
I'm clicking away on pigsback every day and have managed to get a couple of vouchers which will come in very handy either to use or give as presents!
I'm really hoping to reach £700 now. £400 was about what I expected/hoped for this month so very happy.
Hope aliasjo is getting on better this week!0 -
jessicamb wrote:Wow -just read this whole thread and am totally inspired!
In between reading I've just got two pigs off e-bay (I know ridiculous postage but it will get me off to a good start) and am now the proud owner of a large ladybird (I guess called lady until I get a better idea) and a cute little dog (tramp I guess to fit the theme).
I've got a couple of hundred quid to go off the credit card and another few hundred off an overdraft (interest free thank God!) but then am saving for a new bathroom.
I'm thinking spend a penny at the moment (except inflation has it going up to £1). At £1 a go several times a day and spare change when available I should be somewhere near over the next few months.
Good luck, everyone on this site is an inspiration arent they? Any money off will help.:hello: Laugh and smile everyday, it keeps you healthy ! :wave:Thanks for everybodies help on here, what a great community !0 -
im told by jo from the old style board that vouchers sell for (pretty much) face value on ebay. could be an avenue to look into to try and raise a bit more?know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0

Finally got myself a piggy bank (pretty irridescent pink one!) and have started to save 10% of the housekeeping and then any little savings I can make. It is going to take a while to grow into a worthwhile amount to set against the mortgage but every little helps! Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

halloweenqueen wrote:You need to get some money bags and put it in as it says on the bags, for example £20 in £1 coins or £5 in 20p coins, £1 in 1p OR 2ps - not mixed, the bank will give you the bags free of charge. Some place a limit on the number of bags you can take in at one time.
Where's the best place to get money bags, please? Can I just ask my bank?0 -
yep, if you ask at the counter in your local bank, they should give you a nice big pile of them :beer:know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0

As pavlov has said they will give you them quite happily, you may come across one or two bank clerks who are a bit miserly with them but if you don't get given enough just sweetly ask for a few more!0
