Ima Hoot, my mortgage owl is filling up nicely. But he's already had a fiver taken out of him for the window cleaner.
However, I have had a blue pot penny bank for a couple of years that I've been putting the odd pound and 2 pound coin in. I finally smashed it a couple of days ago and there was nearly £200 in it. I now have some really nice summer clothes and very pretty red gingham ribbon sandals. (Made out of gingham ribbon, I haven't named them after my user name or anything...)
Anyway, the point I'm making (badly) is that there wasn't a hole in it to get the money out. I had to smash it. Which I think is why there was so much money in it. I couldn't just take it out when I suddenly needed something. Ima is doing great, but I might look out for one that I have to smash to get into.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
Ive got a really old one like that too (its a teramundi pot i got given). Apparently you are meant to re-cycle the bits by using them in plant pots etc.
I know what you mean though, the temptation to borrow is removed!0 -
You could get one of those tins that are about a £1 that you have to use a can opener to get into once its full!0

I must say, the postage on ebay is rather expensive! And most of the sellers don't send the items registered or even recorded...but that's a matter of another thread...halloweenqueen wrote:Oh you daft monkey!
