I have dusted my piggy and given him his new job description. I've banked the contents (£135 towards mortgage) and his new challenge starts today.

His name is Fuddy (a nickname for one of my favourite restaurants) and now rather than saving up to go back to the restaurant he is helping us to pay our mortgage off sooner rather than later.

DH thinks I'm a little crazy but I showed him the spreadsheet yesterday. We took out our mortgage in September 2003 over 20 years rather than 25 which saved us £25826.06 in interest. Not so crazy huh? :D

Pork chop........:rotfl: .......love it. There's a subliminal message to work hard if ever I saw one. :D

Well guess what I got in the post today???? My mortgage statement.

Seems the girl in the bank had keyed in my last payment as a normal payment instead of it being acknowledged as a redemption payment.

My statement was showing an available draw down balance.......and you have noooooo idea how tempted I was to say..ok, give us it back. :rotfl:

One phone call to A&L & I got an apology and an assurance that the details would be listed correctly and backdated to the correct date.

Herman is still working on the cc balances but a wee bit slower than usual as I have to admit to spending money on stuff for the garden. The sun has got a lot to answer for!

Fruitless seaches for a suitable piggy this week until today at a carboot and got a giant, I mean giant flowery pig - unoriginally called her Penny - but she had a little sister who has been named Halfpenny for my 20p's:j
Very pleased as I got the two for a measily £4.00 which is the p & p for most on ebay. So I guess Penny had better have a £10 for saving me at least that much;)
