That's a fantastic Idea and I may borrow it for a slightly different purpose - we need to save up for our holidays. I wonder if my very small daughter could be persuaded to loan her bright blue ikea piglet bank for the purpose....

Ps how do you do paper mache?
Tear newspaper into small pieces. Mix flour and water, thick but runny consistancy. Blow up balloon and knot. Spread flour mixture over the balloon (I normally use a very small paint brush but you can use your finger). Do a small area at a time, then stick newspaper to balloon. Layer until all the balloon is covered and leave to dry. Repeat the process until when dry the paper mache is firm, then pop balloon and remove. Stick something like part of an egg box over the hole to make the pigs nose. Add four legs(I roll cardboard, make sure they are even and the pig stands. Cut slot in top. Repeat the paper mache, to tidy up all joins and slot. Once dry paint!! Oh and add a tail if you wish!
Depends how big you want the bank but some novelty shops sell individual balloons which are bigger than if you were purchasing a multipack.
If this is too much like hard work, seal the lid on an empty pringles tube, cut a slot in the lid and hey presto a sealed container it does not have to be a pig!:j0 -

I've decided that i'm not going to spend money on something to put money into, when that money could have gone into something that cost no money
Ps how do you do paper mache?
Sorry, I thought I had posted you this link already - click here for how to... it's great fun but I still haven't got around to finishing the money tree :rotfl:I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Hello All
I'm new to this board. I should be completing on my first ever flat by the end of the week, so will be entering the fun world of mortgages.
Whilst I don't think I can over pay on my mortgage - I will check - I'm going to adopt the idea too. I'll convert the piggy's tummy contents into a savings account every month, then when it comes time to switch mortgage when the fixed term runs out, I can pay off a lump sum then.
This sounds very similar to the PIN challenge over on old style, but I will endeavour to keep both going.
Now, I just need to find the piggy!!Comping, Clicking & Saving for Change0
