Hello mortgage savers. I only weigh 'Phil' the pig because he's in the sealed pot challenge and I like to know he's eating at least a few pennies each week. My mortgage 'brick' gets slips of paper stuck in it and the savings transferred to the bank immediately so I get the monthly interest and can see my housefund moving when I transfer it. Am I ultra-mean or what? :)

Note to Batgirl - don't forget to save £50 a month for your mortgage pig :)

Thank you that is just what I need !!!!!!

Ecoelle an empty terimundi pot weighs 780g. So now all you have to do is weigh each individual coin and work out how many of each you have put in and then work out the total, that or just put a knife if the slit and let the money poor out :rotfl:the choice is yours :D

so now the stella tin is empty and my shopping only cost me £15 extra yesterday, quite a big shop £39 all togeather with bogof and such but enough for 2 weeks will only have to top up on bread and milk and such. i,m trying not to empty out the piggy to count it but it's very hard!!!
I am now debt free! Whoop whoop! :money::beer:
  • £105!

Hollie the Holiday Pig had £45, and the Ollie the Wise Old Mortgage Owl had £60.

These are the rounded numbers which I can put into bank bags into the correct denominations (if you see what i mean) - any odds go back in (about £7 in Hollie and £8 in Ollie!).

Off to the bank at lunchtime to pay it in - Yippee!

    Have a good weekend everyone,

  • Hi all! Meredith out mortgage cow, has been working well and another £150 this month went into the pot!

However, we got another savings bank for free and it suits our kitchen better so Meredith is going to be for sale! If anyone here wants her, she is an enormous ceramic cow with a real bell, and yours for a tenner (£10) posted to UK mainland. E-mail me if you're interested or she can go on eBay. Thanks!

Husband had 2 £2 coins today so thats another £4 closer to this months £50, also going to open an ISA through Quidco for £120 but don't really know anything about them. Do you have to pay in a minimum amount each month for a certain period length? Any advice would be great thanks

  • Best put the ISA Q under the savings bit, I am not clued up on them. All my savings go in the mortgage pot and the rest in a sock under the bed ;-)
