MagsyB,
Why don't you just find the best savings account for you and when you want to take the money out, transfer it to a current account that you have a cheque book for? You can usually do this by phone or on the internet.
All banks will take coins - they may not like it but they will! Even if you can't pay it directly into your new savings account, just pay it to your current account then transfer to your savings.
Have fun0 -
I ordered a savings cow from Ebay in the end. Filled it up with all our loose change from the bottle. Got about £85 in there at the moment. Not gonna touch it until its full though0

I had one of them when I was younger. It was blue with a rubber stopper at the bottom. Probably still have it in the loft.
I used to save up all my coins and pay them into the bank but finding time to do it is a big problem so now I stick my coins in a charity box that is collected from my door every-so-often.Gordon Brown ate my hamster0 -

Since the end of July, I have banked £366 from my mortgage pig!
Admittedly this included the proceeds from some ebaying and a boot sale, but in the past this money would have been 'lost' on somethng else. Now Edward the pig 'eats' it and it's adding up quickly - there's at least another £30 in there at the moment.Mortgage Free as of 03/07/2017 :beer:0 -

Can we join the mortgage pig thread.
We have a pigsback pig called Figo. He doesn't get fed too much as most of our money stays in the bank but we are going to start putting our loose change in him.

I almost feel like suggesting that you get a jar for Mutleys medals too - there I said it! :cheesy:
Talking of loose coins. I put the occasional quid on my mantlepiece incase I need change for the milkman, and my nephew who is 6, said to me that he is starting up a coin collection. You can guess where he started can't you!!Gordon Brown ate my hamster0
