Brilliant idea! :T
We've now got a Mortgage Tardis, instead of a pig, in the hope that what's inside is more than what's outside! :rotfl:
Can't quite break the bottle of wine or takeaway habit in the OP.
Thanks for the idea.

This is a fab idea. :T
I've just purchased for the princely sum of £1 a large mortgage tin from Nickel and Dime. Its one of those tins that you have to use a tin opener to get to the money, so a great way for me not to dip into it. I reckon with the size of the tin it should in theory hold about £500-£700 of £1 and £2 coins.
I allow myself £40 a week 'treat' money, so any pennies left at the end of the week are going in the tin[STRIKE]Student Loan = 798 @ Jan 2013 Target date to clear = 2013 DONE [/STRIKE]

with a height of 23cm, they fit quite a bit in, and as they come in different colours, you could split your saving maybe?0 -
Love the idea of a mortgage pig, anything to help pay off my mortgage earlier. I'll be hunting for a Herman of my own tomorrow! :j
Thanks:beer:

I seem to be collecting a mortgage farm! I have a mortgage chicken for £2 coins, a mortgage horse for other coins/ notes and a plastic pig with my 1 year old Ds' name on it for all our 5p coins. It goes into his own account but he is kindly allowing us to offset it against our mortgage at the mo.!:rotfl:
This has been such a fab thread, it was the catalyst for all I've done towards paying off our mortgage. Thank you aliasjo!"Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." William Morris0 -

Don't forget that one of the rules of joining the Mortgage Pig thread is that you have to give your pig/cow/tardis/alien a name, and preferably a photo! We'd like to know what names you have chosen soon please!Extra Payment Every Week Challenge:

Hey everyone - only came across this thread yesterday. My company banks with RBS, and I'd noticed they have some fetching money pigs behind the counter, so a phonecall and a bit of sweet-talking later, and I'm the proud owner of two pink see-through piggies! One for home, one for my desk, and I've put the money I've saved not buying them in their respective tummies!
So, if you bank at RBS, try a bit of sugar talk - worked for me!0 -
Already got myself a savings bottle. Gonna purchase a mortgage pig and put him in the kitchen. Just need to find out where to buy one. Ideally the gf wants one like the OP has got. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance0
