:hello:dizzy_blonde wrote:My issue is that if supermarkets can install machines that count your change in seconds and issue vouchers, why can't banks do the same, but deposit the total in your account? It amazed me how much the cashier tried to discourage me from depositing My money in My account! And I have it all to do again later with the other 4 bags!
Maybe they will get tired of us all coming in with our continuing stream of little bags and get a machine!0 -
you can get machines that sort your change at home.. great fun for the children to do too!!

:rotfl: mmm a condom you say. This was a v. good idea. I went about the house muttering and trying to find address of Family Planning when 17.3 year old son piped up he knew where address was. Therein followed a rather... ahem heated discussion. Said son stated if he ever saw me near said family planning clinic he would never speak to me again. If only I had gone there 18 years ago!!!!!! Anyway I digress. I went to Morrisons who were selling balloons for 49p (9 in packet) but ever resorceful, I noted son will soon be 18and proceeded to purchase birthday boy balloons. I'm sure the choo choo trains will be very welcome........ Beautiful mortgage pig now made and pennies dropping in.0

dizzy_blonde wrote:I filled 9 bags and went along to the bank (Halifax) with them yesterday. First I saw a sign on the desk saying only 5 bags of coins allowed per day (I'd expected that) but the reception I got from the cashier amazed me.
I closed all our accounts (current, savings and kids's savings) several years ago because of the 5 bags rule. Who wants a bank that won't take your money!!!

Wish me luck - I'm off to buy a pig/cow/frog something on ebay. Can't wait to start my mortgage pig - it seems much more fun than transferring online. I'll let you all know what I end up with.....:j"How far you go in life depends on you being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and the strong.
