I closed all our accounts (current, savings and kids's savings) several years ago because of the 5 bags rule. Who wants a bank that won't take your money!!!

P.S. I'm off now to find a mortgage pig...
Yep, I agree entirely. I was really miffed about that, so I went along to the TSB on pigpen's advice and opened a nice instant access savings account into which I can pay as many bags as I like. While I was there the cashier gave me a leaflet on their new "bank the change" account as well, which rounds up all your switch payments to the nearest pound and puts the change into a nominated savings account, so that would help boost the Mortgage Cow account too. Anyway, savings accounts are for another thread so I'll shut up about that now. Just to say, Pat's fattening up nicely!

Well , he made the bus in about 5 minutes ....
May need to buy a pig as he now wants to keep the bus himself & is hunting around the house for money to put in it ! Looks like a junior MSE in the making ... Only problem is , I had been the one hunting around the house for money & now I have competition !

Does any one know how to make a papier mache pig please? I already have a pottery pig but would like to make one for someone else. I'm sure Blue Peter made one donkeys years ago I think I will try their web site.

Hey, it is never an "only". It's an extra payment that otherwise wouldn't have been made and worth so much more than £40 where a mortgage is concerned.
