DH might be more on board than I thought :rotfl: He's just informed me that he can save us £200 a year if he buys an annual membership online for his karate lessons. "See I'm trying to save us money as well", he said! Bless, there's hope for him yet :rotfl:MFiT Member No 85

I just added £3 in coppers salvaged off my 15 year old sons bedroom floor.. taken as payment for tidying his hovelesque room!! Fair gains methinks!
(for more in depth knowledge of the cleaning process visit the flylady thread lol)

I'm the one who keeps raiding Socks, my Debt Elephant.
I've decided to start keeping 20p coins in the car for parking, as that seems to be what I'm usually going after, and perhaps that will help.Hi, I'm Mich

Must admit, im very good with Pork Chop - once it goes in, it only comes out when im cashing it in. When i first got the pig, any money i was going to put in (for example, received a cashback cheque) i used to take the money out the bank, and then put it in the pig, to cash in at the end of the month. I now have online banking, and whatever i have in the bank to pay in, i automatically transfer it over to my mortgage as soon as its there - transfered £6 once!!!!! (much less embarassing than paying £6 in over the counter!!!) This means the odd change in the pig isnt cashed in as often, but a nice surprise when it is!!!0

I have just read a load of this thread and I would like to join in if I may?
Me and OH currently have separate places, so 2 mortgages but the plan is to sell up and buy somewhere new within the next year so I am going to commandeer my sheep (already named Sh*g) to help towards the costs of moving. He will be taking up residence on the kitchen window sill tomorrow and I will go round the various pots of change that are round the house and feed him up. :j :j :j
Now I just need to get OH to join in this one...

I've just ordered a terramundi on ebay to keep my mortgage money in. I know it probably means I won't be paying it in very regularly, but it also mans I can't dip into it any time I want!0

Look at this clever pig It has four compartments for 'save, spend, donate, and invest' and each compartment pours out of a different foot. Sadly, they don't deliver outside the US and Canada, but I will definitely order one for my American niece!Hi, I'm Mich

Phew!! Have just read the entire thread! Taken me ages, but I'm very inspired now!
Already have a Bank to be used, it's a dragon, not a pig but as he was already lurking in the house, he hasn't cost us anything! We've named him Doshin as the idea is that you put Dosh In The Dragon.
He's not yet acquired the heady heights of Mortgage Dragon, but he's going through the training school of being a Debt Dragon. Once he's passed his Debt Exams, he'll be onto the Mortgage Classes.
HalloweenQueen - you are truly an inspiration and if it wasn't half midnight I'd be over at my mum's clearing out the loft that I have LOADS of stuff stored in and putting it all on Ebay / Amazon.
Let's hope Doshin earns his keep swiftly.0
