Thank you for the quick replies. All the websites I've looked at where they have stats for the hospitals that give you any information and the NHS trust for St Helier is not mentioned anywhere or has no data available so I don't know what tests they do or anything. Or what I need. Or what I should have as I know they say different things for different ages and all that but also do I have to have all the screening??
That probably makes me sound really ignorant but so much of what I have read says depending on your PCT and I can't find that out!!!0 -

You don;t have to have any tests or scans at all. It's your choice.
Why not call your hospital and ask for the labour ward, then ask them to help you?:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Oh and as for getting phone numbers, it took an hour and a half of long ringing / cut off / engaged to get through to the antenatal clinic from the hospital switchboard, I can't face that again today but I will try again tomorrow and see if they are a bit more friendly and responsive tomorrow! I fear also if I try again this afternoon I will probably bite their heads off and that wouldn't get me anywhere!0

Skinty - I think its a 'problem' you would find with any of the bedside cots but I would be happy to shove a towel or something in the gap like you have suggested.
Always - did you tell the person on the phone how far gone u were? If you call back I would mention that you are going to complain about your treatment - hopefully that will make them listen.
Also remind them of this part of the NICE guidelinesBooking appointment
Your second antenatal appointment is called the booking appointment
and ideally this should take place by 10 weeks.0 -

I thought that would be OK, and that way it will last for ages because the cot itself is quite big

What would I do without you?!
I think in anger I must have ended up going round in circles on the net looking for information - one thing I see immediately is that they say "We see most women between 12-14 weeks for their initial booking-in appointment, where we take a full medical history and find out if the pregnancy is likely to be high or low risk." Even the sodding GP couldn't tell me that and the woman on the phone didn't say so either - I told them at least twice how far gone I am too. So if their guidelines are not as up as the NICE ones then at least I know what to expect from them. It also says they do 2 scans, one between 11 and 13 weeks and the other 20-22 weeks.
If I calm down enough later, I will call them back.0 -
Its a lovely cot Skinty! I really like how the side fits underneath, and 6 mattress heights is fab! Our cotbed has got 3 heights and the sides are either on or off.
I like how it goes under too! I thought it would provide storage cos I could use it as a shelf for nappies and things like that, which will be useful.
I feel so much happier buying it now it has your seal of approval! :rotfl:
I find all this stuff so daunting and I so want to get it right. Especially at that price!:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j
