Silly question alert - at what age do babies start moving around? i'm looking for co-sleeping cribs and have been told the Cosatto one is only any use as a co-sleeper until the baby starts moving on its own but I don;t know when that is!

I don't know. She said this:
once the baby starts moving the cot side needs to be up for health and safety reasons.

This is the lady at Cosatto and I'm not really sure what she means by that.

I think it may be the advice you get from anywhere TBH its probably because the cot doesn't attach to the bed and therefore if they move around baby could fall down the gap, or maybe get under your covers.

I will say though some babies don't move around in their sleep much for up to 6mths but others will wriggle all over the place from 3mths - fingers cross u don't have a wriggler :undecided

The only gap will be about 4cms wide because we have a pine bed so teh bed sticks out more than the mattress. We planned on stuffing this with a rolled-up towel or similar dense thing.

Do you think that would make it OK?

It's lovely cot but I have to find the right thing and it's so hard!

another week arrives! hope everyone much smilier than me this morning - am sooooo  with the local antenatal clinic, actually nearly made me cry I was that angry and thats not something I usually do. They had my referral from the GP on 8 May (which is later than the GP sent but at least they got it in the end!) but they are in the middle of moving offices and I am not on their system yet but they will "get in touch with me sometime" - they even asked was I just calling about a scan and I had to point out to them no, I hadn't seen anyone yet as I you still have the referral and I am not on your system. She then bleated on again about their office move. Am 11+4 today, it's not that I think anything is wrong, I just want to know what is going on and what should be happening and all that, is that too much to ask? I want to be able to tell people, to even to start get excited myself rather than try and not think about being pregnant inacse something is wrong, to get excited and involved in your gossips too would be lovley! Is that unreasonable? Maybe I am just being pathetic.

Always - I'd be cross too! Do they do the nuchal test in your area? Because if so I think you have to do it before 13 weeks so call them back and start being difficult!

their move is not your problem - you are entitled to a decent standard of care.

You are not being unreasonable, can you get a number for a midwife direct, or their office, mine gave me loads of department numbers..

On the plus side though your be so far on when a midwife does see you, you might be able to hear the heart beat at home, I did and it was lovely
