ELLE! Congratulations! You were due around the same time as me, date buddy, so that's a shock but glad to hear all is well. He sounds little but my dad was 4.5lb when he was born and he is a big bloke now so I'm sure he will be fine!

aww skinty you've been gone for ages! :A

can you believe the OS'ers all got grumpy when someone suggested splitting it up to make it easier, with separate areas for recipes, crafts etc  I thought it was a fab idea

That's mad! It's a beast of a board and it's so hard to find anything as it gets archived so quickly, and then they get cross if you post a new thread asking something that was asked before! Then you get merged and it's sooo confusing.

I used to like Os but it's so big now I hardly use it cos I can;t find my way round it.

By the way, my cousin has invited us to her wedding in Kos next June. Any suggestions on whether that would be a good idea with a then 6 month old baby?

Well, I'm due on 24 July and am going to Italy at the end of September, so mine will be even tinier than yours when we go!

I'm sure it will be fine - by then you will know your baby well; we will just about be getting to grips with it all when we have to go.

Hello all, I think i felt the bump move yesterday for first time I was lying down and felt a funny sensation, looked at tummy it was raised and really hard one side, very strange.

Has anyone been spoken to about the strep B test by their midwifes, my friends mentioned it would be worth having a friend of theirs babiy is very very ill after getting it? x

Yay! It's so exciting to get your first movement isn;t it?

As for Strep B, a few of us are wondering about this. I'm 31 weeks (today!) and haven;t been offered it but there is a private test you can buy for £30 and I'm going to talk to my GP about it tomorrow. I don' know why they don't do it as standard but I'm afraid the further on I get in this pregnancy the more I wish I had private healthcare!

I have a lazy day today - ought to do some gardening really but I'm so tired and probably would be better off resting up.

Wow Sami, just saw this a few pages back. Took my 6 yr old girl to the dentist on wed as her new teeth are growing kind of discoloured and he said that there was nothing they could do until she's in her teens and can have a coating put on them. I had to take antibiotics for pleurisy when I was preg with her, do you think it could be that? Never heard of this before! Couldn't avoid taking them then as was very ill but hopefully won't have to this time. x
Well my teeth were sort of brown where you could see the inside of them if that makes sense? but it only affected my baby teeth (as they develop whilst still in utero) once my adult teeth came through they were fine.
I was having the coating on my teeth from a very young age though (as young as I can remember, so maybe 3 or 4yo) If you're worried go back to dentist and ask again about it, if its the same thing there maybe something he can do.
My mum was told that they didn't tell pregnant women of the affects in case they didn't take them as it would be more dangerous if they didn't take them (25yrs ago)

Fidget - I think it's only a risk with certain antibiotics (for some reason Erythromycin pops to mind, but I can't remember for certain).

Nancmat - I spoke to my midwife about the Group B strep swab test. She spoke to someone from the hospital lab and had them approve the swab test for me on the NHS as I have had so many problems with thrush and irritation (down there) that they wanted to make sure it wasn't a factor. So I will be getting it around 34-35wks I believe.

Elle_gee - Wow congrats! And thanks to gran Julie for the update!

I got my paperwork confirming MA today, so that's a relief. Now I just need to look into the surestart thing.
