Skinty, you look lovely. Makes me look like a fl!!pen whale! I'm only 3 weeks ahead of you.

Kids in class always ask why words are the same spellings but mean different things, answer, because english is a very silly language!!!
Too many children, too little time!!!

:o thanks for saying I is pretty :o

I dunno how big I'm supposed to look! Keep waiting to suddenly get massive but not sure it's going to happen.

Hopefully the popping back into shape thing will happen! That would be nice!

I do see fat people who have bigger bumps than me and I get jealous :o It's hard to judge how big you are though as you kind of get used to it don't you?

ETA: and you can see from the pic that Oh is not a big bloke! We both come from small families.

Yes they do test but reading age isn't a great indication of how well they wil do in literacy for instance. We had kids in our class, one girl as an example was ahead in reading by a few years but was well under average at literacy. Lots of kids can parrot read but can they tell you about what they have read, what did it mean, how did the characters feel. Too many parents rush through the books trying to get their kid on the next level and forget that they should be taking the time to enjoy the books.

Oops, that turned into a rant, sorry! :o
I know, does my head in when parents just want to boast about what level their child is at instead of making sure the child is happy and understanding whats going on!
My reading age was always better than my actual literacy because I have trouble spelling

Erin has no imagination, could never amuse herself when she was little and it would drive me nuts. Her teacher has said it's because she is so academic but she said she could make an excellent scientist or something. Funny as when she was little I never saw her like that she was just a major pain in the bum, bless her.

I'm not sure if either type of child is better but Chris is just like me n my sis - very imaginative and always up to mischief! My sis n i used to do allsorst of random things like we'd cook or bake and pretend we were doing it on blue peter or we used to record our own radio shows on cassette (remember them?!?:p) one would be the presenter and the other would be a guest to be interviewed
