bumble - we had 4 m/c's (at varying stages of the first trimester) between having DS2 (who is almost 3 now) and this pregnancy (I'm 30wks at this point). We did the whole round of blood testing and SA which showed nothing wrong, and we were told it was most likely just bad luck (and to some extent our age, as DH is 44 and I'm 43). At the time, we weren't sure if we should be relieved by that idea or not - at least if there was something wrong, they could fix it, but then again, if nothing was wrong, we figured just keep trying and hope that luck would go our way soon.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0

John Lewis do them in plain cotton. That's where I've just bought my moses baskets ones, and I remember my cot and cot bed ones were plain cotton too from there last time round (though that was 8 years ago) so I assume they still do them in those sizes too though I haven't looked for these yet.0 -
Hi all,
Well, I came out of hospital (again) on Saturday afternoon, having been there over a week, so I've missed what's been going on recently and I'm afraid that I don't think I stand much chance of catching up! Congratulations on the new arrivals and I am glad that little Rhys is making improvements.
I was sorry to hear your news bumblebee and I hope that the doctors are able to help you when you see them.
I was in hospital because I kept on getting attacks of severe pain in one side (going on for one or two hours) and contractions, so it looked like I was trying to go into early labour again. All the blood and urine tests were clear, so my doctor thought that it might be down to anxiety, as it was this time last year that I was pregnant with my first baby and then had a m/c. She'd agree to let me go home the next day and then I'd have another problem during the night and be told that I had to stay in for longer! Then I had a scan to check my kidneys etc. and that the baby was still okay and they managed to find that I had a small fibroid on my uterus which was twisted. Apparently it becomes inflammed and then doesn't receive enough blood flow...and it is this that causes all the pain and then starts up the contractions. So as well as all the avoiding labour drugs that I am still taking, following the excitement at 30 weeks, I am also taking anti-inflammatories...but at least I have been able to go home! I'm getting to the stage where I need to draw myself up a time table as I currently have 10 pills to take, mostly at different times during the day, as well as two blood sugar tests to do each day!
I'm 37 weeks on Wednesday and that's when I shall be stopping all the pills except for the anti-inflammatories (if I still need them)..and then it's a case of wait and see...although my doctor actually thinks that I shall probably make it to full term, now that we know what was causing all the contractions etc. this time around.
Little monkey is still moving as much as ever, so we know that he is okay...although possibly a bit bewildered as to what has been going on with his comfy home!:jBaby boy, Hugh, born on the 8th June 2009, weighing 2.5kg:j0 -

Oh, OH just got back from seeing Rhys. He's got to have a new line put in his foot
(like the ones we have on the back of our hands if having a drip, for example). At one point, he had one in each hand and foot, but in the last few days it's gone down to just one in his right hand to take blood from and one in his right foot for all the drugs to go in - some constantly and some just injected into the line as and when he needs them. Turns out the one in his foot has now come adrift and needs changing.. Wish I could be there to hold his hand while they do it, but it's like a mini op and they kick everyone out of the room apart from a consultant and a registrar
Elle, your better off not seeing it. But atleast they noticed it which is good news, would be worse them pumping meds into an AWOL line.0 -
I just had a phone call from antenatal saying my mw told them i needed an urgent dating scan and i can have an appt at 11:55am due to cancellation :T.
I'm nervous. What if there's nothing there, or no heartbeat etc. Urgh0 -
