Hi all.
Random post about something that happened yesterday.
I nipped to Asda last night. On the way out, i saw a boy about 8ish stood by a car crying his eyes out. I asked him if he what was wrong and he had lost him mum. I checked with him that he had lost her instore and she hadn't come out. I then took him back inside to get a call put out. I told the "Greeter" (.. come and get your black bin bags...... ) Sorry! - and he was taken to the customer service desk. The girl at the desk was just asking him his name, and that of his mums, when he pointed to a women with full trolley and a small child in the trolley seat, that just happened to walk past the desk.
The girl behind the desk shouted to her asking if the boy was her son. She just looked round at him said "oh yeah, come on". And the boy dutifully followed. No thanks from her to me or the staff or anything. I was gobsmacked, she'd gone through the checkout and never even noticed he wasn't there. Some people astound me. I know you have to have eyes in the back of your head, but i'm quite sure i'd notice if my DS was awol.0 -

(((Hugs ))) Tia, hope it settles, but you know you should get it checked out anyway.
Elle, glad to hear your coping so well, im saying loads of prayers for you and your little man.
Workingmummy, thats awful. I have an 8 YO and if I lost sight of her in a public place I would be in a dreadful panic. I sometimes wish I could relax a little more but I worry about everything and I would completely freak out if she was missing more than a few minutes, im forever saying stay close, dont go off anywhere in supermarkets.
DH told me this morning that our 8YO had our 17MO out playing in the front garden, which isnt enclosed and I feel really sick about it. We are in a cul de sac, but if she took her eyes off him and he wandered away anything could happen.
He said he was standing at the front door at the time, hmmm, but my anxiety levels must be through the roof as I really thought I would be physically sick when he said the 2 kids were playing in the garden.

Hi Guys,
Day started badly as I had to go to a funeral. Guy I used to work with. Found out when his eulogy was read that he actually had a daughter that none of us knew about! Got a bit emotional but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
Did bring work home to do but think I'm going to leave it and put my feet up for the afternoon and do some sewing (I'm on no 4 of numbers 1-10, need to get cracking) while watching Roland Garros.
Going to Mothercare to buy the cotbed and pram and few other bits and bobs tomorrow and enjoy the sunshine.

Hi Mrs Moc, Hope you are resting well.
I know what you mean about letting kids play out. We moved to our house 18 months ago and at the end of last summer, DS who was due to turn 5 in the Dec, started asking to play out, because there were quite a few kids outside. For a good few weeks i spent part of the evening playing football with numerous children, keeping a" big fat cotton wool wrapped eye" on DS. In the end i started to go in, but said he couldn't move off the drive, now he is allowed to cross the street directly infront of us and play on the other side, if he is with older children who look after him. Have to say they are very good with him, one of them even held his hand last night, when he asked if DS could go and play at his house. Thing is OH is even more obsessed than i am, and is constantley asking where DS is if he can't see him out the window.
Plus the kids that knock for DS at 8 oclock at night, whats that about?. He's 5 year old. Hes showered and tucked up in bed by 7.30 each night. And no matter how many times you tell them, they just don't get it.
