How are you doing Elle? I have missed a lot of what has gone on with you the last couple of weeks, but I imagine it must be hard for you. I had been hoping you were going to give birth on my birthday too (19th July) so have stern words with Rhys about his sense of timing :) How is he?

Just a quickie - in forward planning and budgeting etc been looking at car seats (we don't need a travel system but will need something for the car obvioulsy) and spotted this - I remember by step sister had one of these a few years ago and raved about it, mainly because it could lay flat. Anyway, seems like a bit of a bargain although I've seen some posts recently about not so good service from these people so maybe not. Hopefully there will be a similar offer in 20+weeks time if little one is still with me but thought someone might need something sooner!

nancmat I'd ask your friend where she got her child development degree from. And when she says she doesn't have one, cut her off before she gets to the "but...." and tell her to mind her own damned business.

We've been lucky in that Himself can work from home 2-3 days a week and I'm going half-time, so once my maternity leave is up the Bellyfrog will always be around a parent. It's not an option open to everyone, and people outside the situation should learn to shut the hell up and mind their own business.

I can't wait for my bump to show - although I shall probably be wishing it will go down later on! :)

nancmat - I think only you know what's right for you. So just ignore her. It's not like your going back to work after two weeks (which is the earliest you can go back!) plus you will be on reduced hours.

It does make you angry though when everyone has an opinion on your pregnancy but you can only do what is right for you so sod everyone else is what I say.

Thanks Karen, I know would love to ignore it but she is suppose to be a friend, only going back what might seem early to others so soon, because I cant afford not to.. only on rubbish maternity pay, plus I enjoy work.. I'll stop my moaning now ha ha, have a lovely sunny weekend

    MSE smug moment alert!

Just got our 6-month water bill and apparently we used 203l per day, which is less than the 'efficient 1-person household' :D Might as well enjoy it while it lasts, am sure will go through the roof when Cub's here and the washing machine is on every day :o

Had my 'booking in' at the new hospital today so am all set for my midwife-led birth centre :D MW was v nice and welcoming. She was amazed all my notes were in order so she didn't really need to do anything. Going back for a lucozade test in 3 weeks but apart from that I don't go back until I drop! Hmmm... better do a trial run as the signage was rubbish and Dh and I couldn't find the carpark or the entrance! :o

Nancmat: that's spectacularly tactless and inappropriate!
MFW Challenge member no. 96 - on hold!

Mountainlioness - well done you! and good luck with the trial run.

Nancmat - it's even worse when they are good friends, especially when they should realise you have your reasons. I still say sod her!

Hehe, will do Karen :) He's not changed much from the morning - stable but not in a good place right now. They think they've just found an air leak on his ventilator which needs some looking at. Consultant have just been trying to look in his eyes but his eyelids are too swollen for them to see anything. He frowns like he's having a right strop whenever anyone switches on the overhead light which they've taken as a good sign.

He's wearing a diddy babygrow which the hospital already had.. I'm going to look online now and order him some of his own :)

Well I hope that everything works out alright with you all. I know it won't help you much but I am sure everyone on this forum is thinking of you and sending positive vibes your way. I definitely am.

Have fun ordering some clothes for him. I imagine what you have already got (if you have anything) would drown him.

Make sure you look after yourself, too.

Love and hugs to you. Karen x
