and you wouldnt deserve anything by being so.

I used the wrong word there. I meant there's no point asking if you can nicely get it for free. Just say you're leaving for something better. ;)

    Sorry for the confusion.

i think i will ring sky and do the same as i've been with them 4 years and i want a free sky+ box
  • Spoke to Sky yesterday (Sunday) and told them i wanted to cancel, which i was going to do as I wanted to go with Virgin because of the broadband. They were fine about it and offered me free sky+, all channels and 1 multi room, phone and broadband for £65.00 - told them i would let them know. Still not sure if i should change to Virgin or not. Is this a good deal?

Still more expensive than Virgin, but it's not a bad deal. :)

  • Got my sister to call Sky (last week) to upgrade and get a better deal as she has been with them for 7 years with the sky tv package. I advised her just to call and see what they would offer her and she went for sky + (free box and free installation, 2mb sky broadband (free router) and the sky phone package with the movie/children bundle for £55 per month which they offered her. They installed the skyplus box yesterday (bank holiday monday and the internet is being done this friday, phone is been sorted too

    done deal

Phoned Cancellations AGAIN last week and this time they offered me a free Sky+ box but a £ 30 installation fee. I accepted.

Installation date is 4 weeks away though :(

I'm truly flabbergasted at the last of consistency displayed by Sky in dealing with their customers.

For the record I have been with Sky for over 20 yrs paying for Sky Sports and Movies.

I've currently got the sports package at £37.50. I want to get Sky talk (with line rental) and base broadband, if I phone up to order is there a chance I might get a Sky+ box thrown in or is it not worth the hassle?

I must admit I'm not one for phoning places but your sister certainly got a good deal with getting free installation too so has to be worth a shot as I've been itching for a Sky+ box for years!!

    I'll keep you all informed...

I have just called Sky and told them my partner had been offered a package with Virgin at £10 less than we currently pay with sky and it included a Virgin + box, told sky that I wanted to cancel and have been offered a price reduction on my package to bring it in line with Virgin's charges and a free sky+ box and free installation (originally they wanted £30 for this but I advised I could not pay until Friday and the advisor went off the phone, came back and said they were willing to waive the fee) :j

Very happy, Sky + being installed in 2 weeks, saved £10 per month and all at no extra cost to me :D

    S xx
