  • You could make some fudge!

There is a thread of recipes for old fashined sweets if you need a recipe I'm sure I saw fudge on it.

How about that home made fudge to impress your friends this Christmas.

  • how come when you open a can of evaporated milk, it's still there ????
  • I like using evap in rice pudding - instead of some of the milk - which reminds me that I was going to put a rice pudding on to cook this eve :)

this is a belter - I bought a pastry shell then didnt know what to do with it, so googled and found this!

    http://www.recipe-source.com/baked-goods/desserts/tarts/01/rec0139.html

    GYPSY TART

    Tin of evap
    Bag of dark muscovado sugar
shortcrust Pastry shell blind- baked ( or pre bought pastry shell, which is what I use )

    Follow recipe above
    Serve with custard
marvel at the simplicity and gorgeousness and cheapness and storecupbaordness of it all!
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • Make chai in a saucepan - evaporated milk, water, tea bag, black pepper, cardamom seeds, cloves, cinnamon, ginger, sugar.
Touch my food ... Feel my fork!
  • My dad has a cool recipe for 'mousse':

Make up a packet of jelly to half the stated amount of water. Allow to cool slightly.

Whip half a tin of evap to soft peaks. Mix jelly into whipped evap and pour into little tubs. Chill in the fridge.

    Lush!!
