Make your own Baileys - http://store.barrys-tea.com/articles/baileys_irish_cream.html although I have to say the recipe I remember didn't have eggs in it - raw eggs, blurgh!

  • Hello
I have opened a tin of Carnation evaporated milk today to make some icing with and have about 3/4 of the tin left. I have no idea what to do with it, can I freeze it? Or could I make a cheese sauce with it and freeze that? Any suggestions very welcome!

Also makes yummy custard. Simply dilute with water to a strength that suits you.

My own way of doing it is to mix the custard powder and sugar together with the evaporated milk. Pour boiling water on top and then zap in the microwave for a minute or so to make it thicken up.

    Fluffy Jelly?

For one small tin of evap milk............

Make up a 'proper' jelly (Gelatine cubes one), half set it.

Whisk up jelly, using a hand whisk preferably.

Add milk, keep whisking until uniform & starting to thicken.

Should set & give you a mousse like dessert.

    Yum!

    Hi,

We have an older thread with lots of ideas for using up a can of evaporated milk so I'll merge this thread with it to keep all the suggestions together.

Well, it's not a bake but it's the best ice cream ever!

Combine 1 cup of whipping or double cream with 2 cups of evaporated milk and 2/3 cup of sugar and 1 tablespoon vanilla extract and a dash of salt.

    Pour into ice cream maker.

    Very yummy.
