Thank you all for your good wishes! If you do need root canal treatment I have had this done and it really is not as bad as it sounds.
The lump - it really is very little, more of a pimple - is probably a small infection in an area where I have both a crowned tooth and root canal treatment I'd forgotten all about. He'll have another look at my routine appointment and X-ray me in Feb, meanwhile if it flares up I can have antibiotics but he doesn't think I need them if there's been no change for so long.
And for that he charges me £5.32!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Thanks Spendless ;D
I posted a question earlier on about having a dressing put on an infected wisdom tooth today.
does anyone know if i have to take the dressing off or does it dissolve?
It's in a hole where a wisdom tooth was taken out last week.
Had to visit an emergency dentist this afternoon as i could not take the pain any longer.
have been given amoxycillin but i wasn't told what to do about the dressing.
It's got that smelly cloves stuff on it and tastes disgusting!
Anyone know what to do about the dressing?
thanks! ;D0
