Yes you have to be logged in before you can access the offers.
Some people may not want to login to get this for free (that's your choice), but you can experience the deals before committing money.

I would not pay for this without seeing the deals either, but with the free card I can do that for 3 months (some people have bene lucky and got 15 months).

Isn´t that exactly what you compained about on the Out to Lunch Club, even though you can view the offers on there without being a member?

Also you have to enter your credit card details to get the 3 months free! Now that is being naive! Good luck being able to cancel that before they get a payment out of you. You should see the complaints about this card on other forums. Oh dear.

    NOT TRUE.
Please stop putting up false information.

Not false actually. You need a credit card. Its plain as day on the site!

It's an exaggerationg like ANY company.
    e.g. exectutive cars, executive homes.
    Stop being so naive.

Exaggeration is a fancy word for lie. Love how it suits you when you want it to. :rotfl:
  • Afternoon everyone.

By all means disagree to your hearts' content but please remember it can be done without resorting to insults and accusations.

    Thanks!

    Andrea :)

    No, it's different.
You cannot see details on outtolunch without paying.
You CAN see details on gourmet club without paying (you do have to login but you don't have to pay).
So NO it's not the same thing.
I would not PAY for a service without seeing the details.
I do agree that it would be better to see the details without logging in but you can try it for FREE for 3 months, so it's different.
Also you have to enter your credit card details to get the 3 months free! Now that is being naive! Good luck being able to cancel that before they get a payment out of you.

I didn't enter my credit card details (I would not have done that).

I'm goingn to try it again and I will spell out the steps for you.

That's a view you are entitled to.
In that case you should be wary of every item you buy in supermarkets that says "luxury" on it.
I would agree with you that it's not a terribly appropriate name, but most people who not be so naive to assume so much from one word.
e.g. if a hotel said "luxury" or "deluxe" then most people would check out the facilities before booking rather than just relying on that one word.
Do you not agree this is sensible to check things out a little more?

Right, looks like the webpage (gourmet site) has changed since I used it.
So I apologise unreservedly to Skintoff_McFlintoff for my mistake about this.

When I applied (and others) credit card details were not required.
I would not have put in credit card details for this.
They are NOW required and personally I would not recommend doing it although it is down to personal choice.

This does not affect my opinion on the outtolunch club or my feelings on the need to do "due dilligence" before signing up to any deal or the need to disregard headline advertising.
Credit card authorities are notoriously difficult to cancel as you have no legal rights and are reliant on the compay, so it's not generally worth it for a "freebie".
With direct debit you have a legal right to cancel.

As one other poster has already said there are plenty of free vouchers around for dining out, so I wouldn't sign up for either deal at the present time.

    Me too, thanks for confirming.
However it looks like the website has changed, hence the confusion/misunderstanding.
