Hi All...
No i have just been given my anniversary offer by egg and was wondering.....
Is it possible to transfer say £500 at a time from egg to another card, then transfer it back anumber of times, say 4 times. To get the balance of £2000 on the 0% terms.
Or will the second £500 be taken from the already 0% balance? I am trying to get rid of my credit cards and at present my egg card is teh ione eating up a chunk of my precious cash, however, i have anotehr card with £500 available on it....hence the idea?
Sorry if this question was posted elsewhere, i couldnt find it.
Regards

One phone call later and £9500 in my current account, how nice of them. An as an existing customer no fee for doing so.

I got my anniversary letter 2 weeks ago and balance transferred another credit card to my Egg card - unfortunately I didn't take the existing amount off the egg card first so I am now paying the higher interest on the original amount. Is there anything I can do to remedy this???
Any help appreciated.0 -

I'm looking to get a super balance transfer as a short term loan, but I have no credit card at the moment! Does the Egg card do this?

Have just completed a balance transfer in my anniversary month of May.
But have been charged 2.5% fee. Egg inform me that their terms and conditions changed from 1 May 06 and a charge now applies!
Has any else experienced this? Is this correct?
Contacted Egg in March to confirm my anniversary month and at that time they told me that no charges would apply.
Have tried arguing that I have been misled, but as yet no joy. Help.0 -
Did you not get this email from Egg. Most of us here did .
John
Dear Mr xxx
We're making some changes to your Egg Card Conditions.
These changes are to Conditions 4.2, 7.2 and 11.4 of your Egg Card. They come into effect from 1 May 2006 onwards and are as follows:
Changes to Egg Card Conditions: 4.2 – this change is to clarify that if you breach your conditions whilst in your introductory period, you will lose the benefit of the introductory promotional rate.
7.2 – this change confirms we're increasing the handling fee from 2% to 2.5% of the amount of each transferred balance, and that we are also removing the limit for the maximum amount that can be charged.
11.4 – this change is to clarify that if you breach your conditions whilst in a special promotion period, you will lose the benefit of the special promotion offer.

The email you show states an increase from 2% to 2.5% in charges, but I specifically emailed Egg about the balance transfer charges and they informed me that as an existing customer no charge at all would apply. They never mentioned a 2% or 2.5% charge. Confused.0

I had a credit balance on my card and decided to transfer it to my bank savings account. I was annoyed to find that they had charged me a 2% balance transfer fee. There is no warning on the site that they are going to charge. Is it worth trying to sue them?0
