  • As other people have said, you can get some good bargains in Poundland but I suspect they make their money out of things that cost 79p elsewhere and people buy them because they assume they're a bargain!

  • I got a rubber broom today, well pleased with it! Also got a tin of 100 joss sticks complete with wooden holder and they are quite decent ones.

I agree that is one reason while I keep a mental price book in my head. So I know roughly what the items would cost else where.

Because people go it's only a £1 :rotfl:

Or even better nip in to boots/superdrug/asda etc before hand make a note of prices then head over to poundland.

    i got myself some

    Super noodles!!!! 3 for a pound !

they are 100g packets and they have curry, chicken, bbq beef flavours

well nice to have for lunch at work :) i worked out that what i was spending on lunch per day getting a can of coke/sandwich etc was in excess of £1000 per year!! (the problem with working in a city centre i suppose!) so i have started the £1 per day lunch challenge, going 2 weeks now and speant just £6 in 11 working days :) and i have to say i am quite enjoying it and eating pretty good stuff such as the noodles and some rice dishes etc and 98p sandwiches from the local cafe.

poundland has some good wire strippers as well if you do anything electrical these are a gem and some good allen key sets.

but the most bizare thing ?

12 pack of durex!!! nope i am not kidding! as i bought some super noodles recently i noticed a lot of 12 packs of durex condoms behind the counter that they were selling for a pound, now i must admit i was tempted but the thought of buying condoms from a pound shop? it scared me, lol they are that cheap for a reason, lol proabibly sealed at both ends or expired 15years ago. either way i avoided lol

    Ha HA

Were those condoms made by Tetley.

We already have 5 children and would not take that risk. AGHHHHHHHHH

That can be the case, the most obvious one for me is the 16 paracetamol (Galpharm I think) 3 for a pound that only cost 16p a pack in Boots.

Best buy for me are the Jiffy bags and the Tetley 100's. Have bought the occasional DVD, picture fram, candle and kids activity set. Its well worth a rummage to hunt out the wheat from the chaff.

Called in my local poundland store as I was last minute mothers day shopping  had a beatiful wood and silver frame, and a plaster of paris set to create a 'happy mothers day heart' that the kids have made and painted. Popped over the road to photo shop and printed out a photo of the bairns from my phone memory card (30p) and a card from the local market (19p) =£2.49 :T
oh and mum loves them :D

Our Poundland often has 3D card toppers-limited choice but the same ones were selling a few shops down for £1.99

Have also got the occasional Bratz product for DD like hairbands, cups etc but they go fast
