  • Morning MRN, you've really made the gym pay :T

Congratulations on the pay rise, having it back dated to August is great but do they always get paid so late? 5 months to wait must have driven you mad, or you are far more patient than I am :)

Have a good day and hope the weather isn't too bad.

  • A few weeks ago day-to-day life crashed and burned for me. I’m mostly out of the black hole now but still brushing off the dust and tending to the cuts. I had to really thin out everything I do for myself (gym, mystery shopping, sewing etc.) and other people (food shopping for my neighbours, unpaid training at work, organising events etc.). Along with this automatically goes the energy, time and care to be really MSE so things slipped. The hassle over the mortgage and my big commute to work (both of which I’ve mentioned on these threads before) certainly raised the height of the walls of the black hole too.
Anyway, the light is returning now and I think I will be able to manage at least monthly updates on here and get back to some basic MSEness. We are now fully with Nationwide and our first payment successfully left our bank account last week. A task for Saturday is to adjust our monthly direct debit up to the nearest £100 and make a £250 OP. Then later to register for their online system and write a letter of complaint regarding the poor service we received during changing mortgage provider.
I’ve mostly kept on top of packed lunches (but no appetite so easy!). Just 3 canteen meals since my last update and I’m not going to berate myself about them.
So you can see I haven’t so much come off the rails but done a little off-roading in the same general direction.

The point of paying off the mortgage early is to make life easier in the long run - but that doesn't mean you have to make it as hard as possible in the meantime! Sounds like you're on your way to striking a balance, so well done :T. Hope you continue to feel better all round.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

  • Please take real care of yourself. It doesn't matter whether you have a mortgage or not if you are in a dark place. I am sorry you have been feeling bad. Spring is on its way and good things will be happening.

    All the very best,

Look after yourself, that is an order

A more gentle pace required from now on and ease yourself back in slowly

But keep posting even if you don't have any MSE news as such
