  • I'm charging my phone up in work today as it's my last day 'in work' before 2 weeks off for Christmas. Working tomorrow morning but from home...

Radish - there's now have a whole thread on which to brag about your long-term commitment to packed lunches and about how delicious your philly/ham/chilli pesto/basil sandwiches are!!!

Hi US, Tilly and GG - we're really pleased to have been accepted for this mortgage offer... we just slipped in at 70% LTV. It's 5 years so we can really go for it without having to hold some back for another round of remortgaging. The online mortgage portal appeals to my daily balance checking so I'm looking forward to getting password for that! And the extra £5.62 easy OP per month is a bonus.
what you thinking for ny resolutions in the ms sense?? x

Well for the joint stuff there's:
£200 groceries and cleaning products per month - I need to get better with old style cleaning products to accomodate this
13 months of mortgage payments for 2013 - i.e. an extra month's worth as an OP (I signed up to 2013 mfw challenge today.
£125 per month to the kitchen fund plus any car boot/preloved money/housey-type cashback too

and for personal challenges... I'm still doodling in my note book regarding my personal budget for 2013. Some MS resolution ideas will flow from that once I've finished bouncing ideas around and scribbling sums for feasibility (iphone 5 or paying off my student loan are possibilities at the moment). The gym membership challenge and no buying toileteries challenges are ongoing... and going well at that!

Sorry to disappoint you US, I'm not the right person to start a weight loss thread, I wouldn't be much good at motivating people or lose any weight for that matter. I have a BMI of 20, do 3-5 gym classes/sessions a week and I don't watch what I eat. I'm happy to encourage people to up their exercise and activity levels though!:j

We've been with nationwide for years.... We have all of our bank accounts, savings, credit card, mortgage, isa with them. IMO they are brilliant and their inline banking and iPhone app is really good. It's so simple to move stuff around the various accounts.
  • That's not a bad mortgage rate at all! Jealous! ;)
I am insane and have 4 mortgages - total mortgage debt £200k. Target to zero = 10 years! (2030)

No worries, I am envious of your BMI. One of my New Year resolutions is to start exercising regularly. Any :money:advice on that front? TIA. :)

  • Hi US - I think it's like most things, once you've made it part of your routine it just happens. The first few weeks of forming that routine are the hardest. I still have evenings when I'd rather just go straight home after work but I force myself to go to a gym class and always feel great afterwards. Tracking my sessions with a spreadsheet and following how much I'd have spent to pay per class compared to how much my annual membership was also boosts my attendance.

Hi MC... keep your chocolate orange to yourself, I can't stand them. I love Clementines and I'm partial to a bit of milk chocolate but together it just wrong!
