Try sending them a message as that seems to miraculously make it appear!
Oh GG... I sent £co a message about my 11 month wait for Kwik-Fit cashback, first they said they were 'trying' then it got declined. I'll have to dig out my policy number but I guess it's worth raising a claim against the declined status?
Hi numptyknownothing, I've got a spanish style stew prep'ed for dinner tonight... the dried lentil/bean mix has some pearl barley in. From the 'What are you making for dinner tonight?' thread:Mortgage_Reduction_Novice wrote: »Stewing beef, chorizo, bendy carrots, shriveled mushrooms, peppers, last teaspoon of red curry paste from jar, dregs of ricotta, last squirt of tomato puree, remaining dried lentil/bean mix and the last slosh of HM chicken stock!
You guessed it... my fridge is now bare! So, on to HM ready-meals for the rest of the week! Already on the shopping list - bulgar wheat and sausage meat (need to check the sage plant).
SIL - is a pain in the purse! She's very good at getting what she wants and clambering all over the family to get it. I don't want to fall out with her or get myself a bad name, so I'm trying to highlight her ways subtly but transparently. Hence the train conversation was conducted in front of other people and she only made herself look bad.MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -
If you have a W@itrose near you, they are always reducing things like sage to pennies by the end of the day. I used to grow it but it died off and I never replaced it. Thats something I could put on my present list, as I struggle to know what to say if anyone asks.
I now buy and freeze when I find it and it lasts for ages.

Hi there MRN
All these marrow recipes sound delish, just one problem, it's been so many years since I had one I can't remember whether I like them or not :rotfl:
I know I used to have them regularly when I was little but don't know whether that was just because my grandfather grew them in his vast veggie garden, or, whether it was because I enjoyed them
Well done on the packed lunches, it's not something I get to do now but in years gone by I remember that variety is the key which I know the other ladies have said too
Regards

Morning... welcome to the "marrow fest" abouttimetoo!!!
I do have a Waitrose in walking distance but I also checked in my herb planter at the top of the garden - sage and thyme are looking strong. I asked for a rosemary plant for my birthday because my last one was looking ropey to say the least. Now the old one has picked up and the new one doesn't look so good!
While I was in the garden I checked the marrows (by torch light!) and some newbies showing. The marrows need to hurry up - I want to get the garlic in their place by the time the clocks change. The over-winter plants got munched but I'm hoping some will pick up again - broccoli, Brussels sprouts and cabbage - I'll pop their fleece blanket on at the weekend. The mustard seed 'green manure' has grown fast and should revitalise the areas where produce was low this summer.
The Spanish style stew was delicious last night... I was hoping to bring some left overs for lunch but MrMRN had generous seconds! So, another bagel for lunch today.MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -

I like marrows but my wife loathes them - my favourite is making really spicy turkey mince with loads of chillies, onions and garlic and oregano and then topping with breadcrumbs and a little grated cheese
Doubt I'd get away with growing them tho :rotfl:0 -
It looks like the Marrow Fest is still going... thanks for the second new recipe for me to try. Can we get back to more MFW topics now?
Work has been slow today. Another professional set-back linked to my current employer  led me to apply for two jobs during my lunch break, both closer to home.
The big credit card bill (city break, car insurance, two wedding presents, curtains and gym membership) has statemented... fingers crossed for a tiddler next. I haven't transferred monthly left overs into savings for two months to accommodate this bill. It's due to be paid early Oct so end of Oct I'll be able to cream off leftovers and get back into the saving groove.
Still holding out till Dec for new mortgage and mortgage OPs review... so frustrating!MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -
