Have you ever done the physical impact of positive and negative affirmations. I did this to a crowd of 6th formers and was completely wetting myself.
Firstly get a big strapping chap from the audience - or your client or OH if home alone.
Get them to make a fist and hold their stongest arm straight out in front of them.
Tell them you're going to try and push their arm down and they should try to resist you doing it.
You try and if strongish man doing it, you'll fail.
Now tell him to relax his arm at his side, close his eyes and repeat the following out loud 10 times for everyone to hear.
"I am weak, Iam useless, I am no good at anything".
After he's done that get him to stick his arm out as before and resist as before.
You'll be able to push it straight down. He will be gobsmacked.
Now tell him you'll fix him.
Arm down, eyes shut and repeat 10 times out loud.
"I am strong, I am powerful, I can do anything".
Arm out again, resist you as before.
You won't be able to move it again.
It works because your brain processes the verbal messages at a sub-conscious level which overrides the conscious resistance.
Truly worked - gobsmacked forty 18 year olds including the First 15 full back whose arm I was swinging up and down...
One for everyone to try on OH's, strapping sons and "fitter than me" ladies.
All results gratefully received for the positive affirmations roadshow here.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -

Oh love all this bullsh1t bingo stuff (as OH lovingly calls it).
Did a big piece of work on the Gung Ho book too. All about setting priorities and taking charge. I'll see if I still have the presentation and I can send over to you.
Do you like the FISH books. Big one for me is being in the moment, something I guilty of not doing and that really improves my focus and results.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -
not seen the gung ho book
I have played buzzword bingo in my time
Yes I love FISH and in my own small way have introduced it at some of the places I've worked - for me it can be summed up in "choose your attitude" and working life is too long for you not to make time for "fun" along the way...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

That is AMAZING KJ! There's me thinking I was already on board the Positive affirmations lovetrain being a fan of You Can Heal Your Life! I'm definitely into all that stuff.
Just looked at FISH on amazon, sounds similar to How to Win Friends and Influence People, I might see if I can get a copy from the library.
As for Sumo, I had the privilege of seeing the real thing in Tokyo some years ago, it was quite a spectacle - probably not good for blood pressure though.
Thanks for the advice re: the houses KJ, wish I had your brain! Good luck with the business SH, I'm sure it'll be a huge success0 -
True. I saw a video about the guys who started it in Seattle...it actually made you want to work on a fish stall...that's got to be impressive.
I think my hippo bottom is starting to de-wallow...thanks SH and MAC for stopping by to chat while I had a "moment" or two.
Positives from this are tho -- My forms were all spot on when the solicitor checked so I have got that part right and can re-use.
- I now know of a local firm of Sheriff Officers and they're not too expensive.
- I now know the cast-iron procedure.
- F3ckless Fooker's cousin Dirty Deek will be getting served next week before he's allowed to get anywhere near FF's arrears. That will also consolidate my learning of the process

My pleasure.
If you need anything feel free to PM me, not always good to have to put more sensitive data on a open website.
Most of my letting knowledge is thro scars rather than brains. The development stuff is what I really love and enjoy. There are some nice reads out there. Great that we can exchange ideas and booklists here - loving that.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0
