I've met pretty much everyone personally and worked with them. I don't use it to socially chat but do occasionally meet up with people for lunch etc.
The groups aren't that interesting to me. Have joined a few but don't find them that great, however may have joined the wrong groups!:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -

Finished up contract today so back to counting all the pennies.
Kitchen now painted and only thing missing is flooring. It looks so good, the boys have done us proud. Last payment of £500 made today so that one is done minus cost for floor.
Extension is built. Joiner did the wall insulation today. Roof is tiled, all windows and doors are in. Need to build steps outside, floor it, finish and paint walls.
All the bills are up to date and I'll post the totals over the weekend.
Planning to get out and about this weekend. Anyone got exciting plans?:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -
Wow that sounds amazing Kissjenn! You are going great guns.
I'd love to say I have something wildly exciting planned, but a 2 hour kids party on Mother's Day will be about as exciting as it gets - joy
Hope you have a good one!0 -
Thanks Mac. Enjoy the party.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0

I've just bought the book but not seen the movie yet. So you recommend the book?
How's Mr Moo - feeeling better?
I'm on Chinese Laundry duty here, 4th load on and about another 8 to go. But the thought of uncrunchy sheets makes it so worthwhile.
SB wanted to go to HMV to buy yet another set of earplugs for his ipod. Cheapest they have is about £5 and regardless of price, brand etc they all last him 6 - 8 weeks. So made exec decision and bought a job lot today for £60 off ebay. All individual blister packs, lots for SB and I'll sell the excess through the shop. Hopefully not too mad a decision.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -
Spreadsheets checked and we've now spent and paid for £46,343 worth of work. I've just over £10k left in the current account so that's 70% of the estimated £80k spend accounted for.
I've had to pull forward the timeline from Chrismas 2010 to Summer 2010. My birthday is end of June so that's the new target.
On the plus side I haven't touched one penny of the money I earned on the contract with Shewhospeakswithforkedtongue except to pay the first installement of VAT. 2nd installment due end of this month so will calculate that and fire it off. Tax man obviously due a large slice too but only when I decide to pay myself some of the money and it will be offset against money hole that is start-up business. So booking appointment with accountant to sort all that out.
Minus side is that's a massive drop in income.
Plus side is that's a huge increase in available time and sanity restoration.
Feeling strangely sanguine about the situation, maybe it's not hit home yet or maybe it has and at long last I'm starting to understand that there's no pleasing some people and that's there problem not mine!
Maybe we should have a poll...have I lost the plot or found it at long last?:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0
