May your 2010 be better than the best year you've ever had and may you and yours find joy, health, happiness and a computer virus that mysteriously wipes out all overdrafts, loans and credit card balances.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. To move us along our merry path to clearing out the house so the builders can descend I've used some of the renovation monies to hiring a skip. It arrived yesterday and is neatly positioned under Small Boy's bedroom window. This carries omminous undertones for people who are bad at tidying and the proximity of window to skip has been clearly pinted out.
Also as it sits less than 3 yards from the front door OH's favourite excuse of "I can't drive and therefore can't clear things out" is negated. He simply needs to stagger 8 feet et viola, big skippy skip thing is there.
So far covered bottom in black bags and Christmas mess and will attack some old carpy furniture on Sunday. The builder is allegedly starting the new foundations on Wednesday but will of course not be holding my breath. Anything not in skip will be ebayed / freecycled or out to use.
Inventory of toiletries required, I seem to have ooddles of some and smidgens of others ... cosmic balancing now needed.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -
I'm loving the level of productivity on NY Day - very impressive :T No hangovers in the KJ household then?!
We're vegging - bin bags and skips are light years away today.
Happy New Year!0 -
Well done - I have almost sorted the lounge - now just need to tackle all the things I cleared off the floor -currently covering the 2 seater sofa! My tidying urge is spurred on by my DS having a party here tomorrow and inlaws coming for birthday tea Sunday!
Hopefully one way or another we will have a reasonably tidy house ready for when I return to work! Good luck with your tidying and clearing out too!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks Ladies.
I'm going to lose the garage as part of the work and have no idea where all that stuff will go. I hate throwing out stuff that may be useful (???) one day. I hurts
But need to get there and current plan I just submitted at work means I'll be abroad approx 10 times in next 3 months so need to maximise my time when I'm here. Small Boy is good just needs to be poked in the right direction and the blinkers which allow him to step over all carnage in front of him, removed.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.
