Thanks Seax and KJ. Letter from the Council this week said in their opinion the arrears are my own fault because I'm "too liberal". Well I've taken their useful advice on board and will now start eviscerating the little darlings.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Still no cheque from council. Time to be less liberal and call them I think.
Also just got note from Amazon...I've sold a book so many thanks to Seaxwyn for that gem of an idea.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -
What a brilliant granny. Sounds like the kind of old dear you imagine hitting the bad guys with her handbag:rotfl:.
That's a lot of stuff you've got done from your list of goals, well done. Keep up the good work and you'll soon be leaving us behind.:TThe person who moves a mountain begins by carrying small stones.

SM - Exactly. Take that you little **** (please note that no Grannies actually swore in the making of this rant!)
Here's a Post Office conundrum.
Two ebay packages.
Both same size A5 padded envelope.
One bulky boxed bottle of perfume.
The other a Nintendo DS Game which fits thro the slot but doesn't "fall thro the slot" on the measuring thing, therefore small packet not large letter.
Now Price is Right Quiz here...
Question: If Game is going 2nd class post to Surrey and Perfume going airmail to Russia. What's the difference in postage?
(Answer cunningly hidden below if you tab a bit)
Answer: 4p. It is 4p cheaper to send a DS Game 2nd class to Surrey than a 30ml bottle to Perfume to Russia.
Now remind me why Royal Mail don't want to open up the letter and packet monopoly to private companies :A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -
Had a lovely out-of-the-blue offer from a chap on here to teach me how to do matched betting. Seems he loves a challenge :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Well my first NSD of the month.
Started moving stuff out of playroom so I can turn it into new office. Problem now is where everything goes during this cleanup and churn phase. Cleared hall the other week so desperately trying not to fill that up.
I need a solution and think I have a cunning plan. Will have to sit down and flesh it out a bit. May get to do a project plan yet.
Tomorrow is Hospital and then RNIB Braille Class for OH so sensible bed time. We've both got OU TMAs due next week, so reading that will have me asleep in no time. Have boiled eggs to make us a packed lunch as there's not enough time (and petrol) to go in and out to Edinburgh twice. We'll take husky out with us for the day, she enjoys a sandwich.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -
Offered Husky a homemade egg sandwich. Husky said "No".
So we ate them and very nice they were too...picky little blighter.
Braille class went well. Need to sign up to RNIB library and get some books for OH to practice. Peter Rabbit etc have been recommended.
Spend was very restrained, less than a fiver for lunch bits and a cup of tea. Old days (well last month) that would have been £30 for lunch so we're getting there.
Also spoke to Tax Credits. Have a horrible feeling this will go wrong but can't get them to explain how to avoid that. The system is bizarre (imho obviously). If anyone has any hints on how you manage to stay within the rules when you've no idea what you'll earn then please let me know.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.
