Yum - egg mayo sandwiches are one of my favourites. Mad husky for turning nose up at those.

Following on the grief we've had with Big Duncan's Gym they sent me a letter detailing that yes it is more expensive to quit because you're disabled than able-bodied. Hmm - cannot believe they admitted it in writing. Neither could the paper. So maybe we'll have Big Duncan defending his policy in the press now, I genuinely want to hear his rationale. If he goes for the PC route of "I didn't know and it's not right" then a little win for everyone with a membership. I can't see the defence of the indefensible route is cost or PR effective for his brand in a cut-throat recession hit sector. Don't want to get my hopes up yet, it's still with the journalists.

Small boy and OH clearing out their respective rooms. I'm going to tackle the dining room. Goal by the end of today is to have gone through everything in the rooms and sorted it into:
    • Keep
    • Attic - long term storage
    • Storage - short term until renovations done - books for example
    • Sell
    • Charity
    • Dump
Grandad is trying to start sorting his place but I've asked him to keep the stuff there because I need to clear out the entire ground floor here.

... I will require frequent breaks on here to recover I feel.

PS First Small Boy black bag just appeared in hall...he doesn't get his computer fixed until he's gutted the whole room...that's called incentivisation :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

LOL @ your [STRIKE]bribery[/STRIKE] encouragement towards small boy's clearing up mission - good plan! Sounds like you're getting seriously organised with your decluttering too - I really need to get back to that but motivation seems to have gone walkies at the moment.

Thanks EH. I'm terrible without deadlines and the building warrent is due any day. Also my birthday at end of month so I'm building myself up to having my shiney new orifice by then.

So gut it tomorrow, electrician in asap to move sockets, painter in straighter after (it's very MSE compared with the mess I make) and then move everything up. Will need one new desk about £200 incl delivery but then the whole thing will actually slot together. As we spend about 12-14 hours between us in there every day its a necessity otherwise blood will be spilt (and it won't be mine).

I'm going to try and salvage the carpet which between small boy, lucozade and a psychotic cat who takes her inspiration from the Maze Prison Protests (enough detail), it may be a hope too far.

Found more potential candidates for amazon...sold 2 today so profits now from Amazon must be tipping about a quid :rotfl:

The DIY warehouses rent out "rug Doctor" machines which are meant to be excellent - I know that speedy hire also hire an excellent carpet cleaner - we use it at work and last time I brought it home and did ours here over the weekend - absolutely shattering but the difference it made was incredible. Otherwise, if it won't clean up, do you have floorboards good enough to strip back to?

Thanks EH, great ideas. We've VAX carpet cleaner we use for the flats, not industrial strength but I'll give it a go. Under the carpet is just chipboard as it's a newish house, so no lovely victorian floorboards awaiting discovery.

Small Boy has just brought down his 7th Black Bag and that's only the wardrobe. Gutting-out day has been extended into tomoz to keep him going. School is on an in-service day so there is no escape.

Tomoz will be dump, recycling and storage runs. Such joy. Then I have til Friday to do my next TMA (well read book, do DVD and then do TMA!)
