OH not too well today, so no activities involving him completed.
Small boy yomped his way back home via a river (head first) and a cowpat (bum first), so he's now fed, showered and very sunburnt.
Another big hit at ebay tomorrow and then remainder of list. Need to dig for Yorkshire Pudding recipe for Thursday night also.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -
Yorkshires - I usually go for a couple of eggs, whisk them up a bit then chuck in some plain flour until it's so thick you can barely mix it. Let that down a little at a time with either half milk/half water or skimmed milk, until it's roughly the thickness of unbeaten double cream. Cook in a hot oven and don't open the door on it for at least the first 15 minutes. Works for me for yorkies, toads etc. Not very technical though so if you were looking for something with accurate measurements I'm probably NOT your girl!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thanks EH, sounds good to me.
My soup recipe goes - keep adding stuff til the spoon stands up, season and serve! I like precision :rotfl::A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -
Spoke to Big Duncan's Gym today. 3 months notice to quit due to stealth T&C change but only 1 month for medical grounds for which you must have a Dr's letter.
So after going round the houses I get a medical letter for OH.
BDG ignore this and instead offer us a full and final of 3.5 months fees minus 20%. So £237.50 and they say I'm be ungrateful cos they could have charged me more.
I ask about medical they jumped up and down for and I'm told it was a better deal to ignore it. Why? Well because they charge an admin fee of £75 to process a cancellation on medical grounds!! So why waste my time and a GPs time when you knew this all along? Because we don't actually do any calculations until you send in the medical letter :eek::eek: And we didn't have to tell you what the fee was because that's up to us :eek::eek: and :eek::eek: again
So have written very unfriendly email asking for this to be dealt with as a complaint and cancelled my DD. Point blank refusing to 3.5 months notice because a month in BDG is an entire calendar month altho this is not referred to anywhere.
We enjoyed the gym when we went and the people were friendly but now I have nothing but bad vibes for BD. Maybe it's a sign of the times because so many people are cancelling due to the recession or maybe he really does hate disabled people!:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Maybe write to your local paper or to Watchdog and shame them into giving you the money back?0

Thanks FF, I'm very tempted to do just that. Gits.
On a more positive note Husky has found true love with a fox. He visits every night and they sit and chat thro the fence. She's a bit of a flirt because if you wave a dental stick at bedtime and she leaves him high and dry. He's currently sitting on other side of the fence looking dejected sending out a few last ditch love calls.
Baking day tomoz, birthday cake, muffins and maybe the famous Twinks Hobnobs. All that healthy sugar should get us back on a happy keel.

Thanks to you both. I'll drop Watchdog a line. Mr Bannatyne is so high profile they'll hopefully be interested in his screwed up medical cancellation policy and "when is a month not a month" measuring system.
Definately going to give hobnobs a go tomoz, will report back and thank Twink.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -
Notice she doesn't mention that we are mostly insane.........
Welcome to diaryland! My diary is full of sane ramblings and insightful thoughts...not!:rotfl::rotfl:
Good luck with the DLA review. It sucks at times, and always amazes me that the govt pay a mean pittance for caring in the home yet charge a fortune for care homes..go figure eh?
You do sound very positive and i hope the job front picks up for you soon.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
