Ah but I am an old shrivelled womble so anything with a spark of life looks good to me at present. My absolute favourite has always been Sean Connery but I'm scared he may smell of embalming fluid by now and my fantasies all crushed!

Trying to be more industrious today.

Weekly shopping done. Pinged up on till at £92 (agh) then the offers dropped off £82 (better) then the vouchers went through £72 (phew). I did learn that Sunday morning nets you zero bargains so will avoid that in future.

    Home-made chicken soup for lunch
Everything prepped for tonights stir fry
    Plum crumble made for pudding
    Batch of Twinks Hob Nobs
Taught DS how to make a sponge so that's cooling

Arrears Boy texted me at 12.48 to say he wasn't leaving at 1pm...he was at his mates. He's agreed to meet me tomorrow at 5pm to discuss him going on Thursday. The flat has at least 1 door off its hinges that I saw last time - his response - that's what my deposit is for!!

Going to tackle playroom clearout again. DS is being industrious, the floorboards are creaking.

Cheeky little burger!! Oh well, at least he's not expecting his deposit back from you anyway, so it won't come as to much of a nasty shock when you refuse to give him any of it! I assume you intend to pursue action against him for the arrears anyway?

I am impressed with the industrious nature of your Sunday. We've got some gardening done and that's about it. The worlds smallest piece of roasting pork (the off-cut from the pork shoulder I bought a few months back) is in the oven cooking away on a nice low heat, and I will probably do boiled spuds and a bit of salad to have with that. Gooseberry fool for pud. Yum!

    EH - Dinner sounds good.

I have Arrear Boy's Granny's address (the punctuation for that is challenging hmm!!) I have so far spent £600 pursuing another one who trashed a flat (£4.5k to fix) and £3000 arrears. He had a guarantor and although I now have a CCJ, I haven't seen a penny.

I want to permanently rearrange his boy bits so he's wearing them rather than his beanie. He has no idea of the problems he causes someone when he does this. The flat is in darkness because he's run out of elecricity so that we have to be topped up too.

Best bits is if you go onto the other boards they offer lots of advise on how to get out of these arrears, refuse to budge, make your landlord pay for your eviction etc etc. Sorry to rant but it makes me sick.

I've commented before, I tend to steer clear of browsing on the bancruptcy board because it makes my blood boil seeing people who have for the most part dug themselves into a hole, being advised on how, basicaly, to fiddle their SOA so the OR will let them keep more of their cash to themselves.....I'm well aware that for every 9 who have spent themselves into their situation with flash TV's, holidays abroad, and new cars, there is another who has run into trouble through genuine hardship, but ironically enough those are usually the ones who seem keenest to play it by the book! Then you come on this board and there people who yes, are in debt, and yes, are in debt through their own mistakes, but are bending over backwards to sort the situation out and spending years paying off the debts.......

Yes, I feel quite strongly about it too!

Is there an equivalent to the Small Claims court in Scotland? You might be able to go after arrears boy that way at relatively low cost? Of course, there is still the perennial problem, that even if you won against him, if he's got nothing, you're going to get nothing!

I agree with both of you KJ and EH. There are probably people here who will read the following and scream at me for being stupid but I have not requested any CCA's and I have not claimed back any charges. I know I took out the loan's, credit card's etc so why request CCA's, all but one or two bank charges were before we went on the dmp so more than 5 years ago so we couldn't claim them anyway. We got into debt through buying a house that needed a lot of work done on it then I was made redundant. If we hadn't bought the house I'm sure we wouldn't have our DD as where we were we could not have brought up another child. The house is still a work in progress but we are getting there. It is just taking longer than it would have done if our circumstances hadn't changed.

We made the debt, we plan on paying it back. It's just going to take an awful long time. We have never really had decent holidays(abroad). We enjoy camping and the kids enjoy it so they don't think they are missing out on anything. We do our best to scrape enough together so DS can go to a couple of hobbies he enjoy's doing. DD is now getting to the age where she should be doing something too so we'll discuss with DS if he will give something up so she can start something. Otherwise she'll have to wait a bit longer.

We'll all get there in the end - some honestly others not so.

Thank you both EH and SM.

We do have a small claim system, I bought a book on it ages ago when I was screwed by yet another one. Guarantors are no more worth having than ashtrays on a motor bike. I admire every one on this board and the OS boards. Everyone there is getting on doing what has to be done and taking care of their families. Others aren't and although some are in a terrible position through "there but for the grace of God" circumstances, most are just looking for a way out which means their creditors get nothing and they think they've won some kind of victory. But what goes around come around and one day someone will come pee in their sandpit and lets hear them whine then!!

Deep cleansing breath, relax and listen to the birdies. twitter_gun.gif

Once I get him out, please gawd this week, I will schedule all the work that needs done and get it back on the dead ANIghostFlareC.gifhousing market. Probably about £500 to get it habitable. Not as bad as Goth Boy who left us with a black bedroom, no lights and a 6 foot crucifix :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I just about wet myself as I felt my way up the corridor that night. Really expected to come face to face with satan02C.gif

I think the NHS should provide me with my own special counsellor, and hot tub and maybe a nice masseuse!!
