Afternoon all!
sistercas - Soooo jealous of you seeing John Barrowman, he is such a gorgeous chap!
Beemuzed - Hugs for you honey
Glad it all went ok Essex-girl.
tired mum - I hope your ear infection clears up soon, they are so painful!
Pooky - I was late with my seed planting too but the seedlings are all up and looking healthy.
....spinach, carrots and squash and raspberry swirls which Rachel Allen made on Market Kitchen last night....Marie
hilstep - I have long nails and love them and keep them that way despite gardening, though it does take some effort. Like you, I feel better with nails done nicely. When I have time I even do a bit of nail art.
Snowy Owl - the 'cakes' we know as snowballs here are marshmellow covered in chocolate and coconut.. little bits of heaven! Though as I am now diabetic I guess my days of buying them are now over!
Had a lovely day yesterday, lots of visitors. My occupational therapist came and told me about a one off grant that is possible for carers, or for the person they are caring for to make life a little easier. You can spend it on pretty much anything as long as you keep receipts in case they want to see what you used it for. My OT is such a nice lady, she really seems to care about you and your family as a unit and not just another client.
Then I had a girlfriend call down for a quick coffee that ended up being four hours long and lunch and her and my OH sticking up some border in my lounge that had just started to come away from the wall yesterday! Left to my OH it would have taken him weeks to get around to it but my friend Dawn just got on with it. :rotfl: We all laughed like mad all afternoon. Then we did a bit of OS trading.. We fancied corned beef for lunch and coincidentally Dawny had bought some on BOGOF the day before and so went and got that for us all. We had bought some celery BOGOF too and I was laughing about how we would never use it all up and she said she loved it so we did a swap! I also gave her some baby lettuces to plant and in return she is lending me her mini greenhouse which she isn't using this year.
Later that day another friend rang and in conversation I offered her a couple of lettuces (I had 20 and they are all growing like mad and we will not eat them all ourselves) and so she is coming to collect a couple and in return bring some onions that she has started growing! I feel all OS-y just because we are all just swapping and borrowing and none of us spending any extra money out!
Cooking wise - we had a Tescos order so I made corned beef pastryless quiche last night and tonight we are having yellow stickered Pukka pies and cheesy mash with two veg and gravy.I hope you all enjoy the rest of your day. Warm gentlefor anyone who wants or needs one.

Just popped in to say that the man is round at the house at the moment to do the energy part of the HIP (house info pack). We're really pleased with the way the schedule looks so fingers crossed we get a buyer when it goes on the market!
Worked hard to get it all clean and tidy and clutter free and we both say that if we weren't heading north then we wouldn't move from this house at all.
Hoping you're all well. Sorry I haven't read today - I usually do but I will tonight!
(((hugs)))

:hello:
I have been lost under flat pack, boxes and moving house stress!
Glad to be back, now have internet in house:j The house is all sorted now though and OH and I are LOVING IT!!
Feeling very left out on the OS banter though so will read back after this.
Had a bit of luck in discovering free wood at Ikea. There is a rack at the exit outside with wood that is for recycling. It had a notice to say 'help yourself' so we did:p OH got loads of wood for making worktops and shelves in the garage and enough other bits to floor the loft! SCORE!
this is Ikea Edinburgh so not sure if other Ikea's do it??
Beautifully sunny here today but very windy. Got washing on the line and love the fact I now have a garden...it's awesome!
Not much else OS at the moment, not got the the SC unpacked yet!
Love and hugs to all xxxx

Aussie - I dont want to even imagine the sort of spiders you see
Hopi Ear candle was lovely, head feels very light now and sinus' cleared. You also get a sinus massage after which is very relaxing.
Diva - very impressed with your swapping.
Raining very heavily now here so having a relaxing afternoon on the sofa watching Uk food. Will do some stuff soon though. Rain is forcast for the next 4 days though - hopefully will get it all out of the way before half term.
Pen-Pen, i can still remember my last day at school but is was after the exams - very emotional - dont envy GCSE's though - will she have a prom to go to, apparantly our new headmaster has stopped DD's school from having them.0 -
:hello:Hello! Just a shortish post today. ((((HUGS))) to everyone in need of some, especially beemuzed.
Hockeyduo - glad to hear you've moved in and are enjoying having a garden
tru - Loving those chickensWhat with that and the gardening you must be feeling particularly OS atm
essex-girl - Kept forgetting to say well done to your OH :T
meanmarie - So sorry to hear about poor Thunder, hope he heals quickly xx
I bought a chicken at the Co-Op y'day and now trying to think what to do with it - I suppose it will be roasted as usual, as it's rather late in the day to put it in the SC, then what we don't eat today will make several helpings of lovely curry
Poor DH yesterday, he'd washed some shirts and wanted to dry them outside, but he hadn't realised how windy it was....two of them had to be retrieved from next doorI did tell him he was using the wrong pegs for a windy day....
Got some bio "colour" laundry liquid from Lidl to try - quite nice, has sort of a fruity smell!
Off to get some more washing in in a minute. Hope everyone has a good evening.0 -
Afternoon all,
Not a nice day here to-day, cold and windy with frequent heavy showers...no gardening to-day, so lots of knitting this pm.
Sile is visiting her brother when she is tired so that she is not so anxious to belt around the place....she was not pleased this morning that OH was watching something on TV and turned away from her favourite tennis, took a little petting to get out of that strop...these cats are ruling my life already!
Did some shopping this morning and got a nice looking half leg of lamb for €10, will have it on Sunday slow cooked with roast veggies and potatoes.
Dinner to-night is burgers, large mushrooms which OH is going to stuff, baked potatoes and maybe a coffee cake, I really fancy one...will just make 2 egg sponge in one sandwich tin....
May do some washing this afternoon, not to put on line so will see what I have which can easily go on airers.
Hugs to all in need or want, congratulations to all who are celebrating, welcome to any newbies knocking around and please come back to all those regulars who are MIA.

Hey there folks
Not had time to catch up on posts yet as just in from work and looks like its going to pour so got a few things to do after my coffee. Had to rush hom for something sweet as nearly passed out driving the kids home. Has happened a few times but my blood tests say its not diabetes even though had it both pregnancies. This time just scared me a wee bit much with the littlies in the car.
Well one more day of work tomorrow then peace for three. Think have almost made my mind up am gonna try and drop a min of one day more a week and maybe if I have the courage a few hrs each day so I can do the school run in the afternoon. Doubt my boss will gofor it. I can but try.
Hugs to all that need them. xxxxAlthough I get lonely  as a single mother there are always two smiling angels ready to give me the biggest hug in the world. Love you babies :grouphug:
