Morning everyone - hope you're having a good day so far?

It's another lovely day here and according to last night's forecast, it's meant to hold til Friday :) Got a washing on the line and glad to get some clothes dried outside.

Going out for my tea tonight, but will have to make something for DH to have when he gets in.

Beemuzed - thinking of you and your family.

    Have a good day everyone

penpen I know you do alot of gardening - how do you know when things like spuds beetroot carrots are ready for picking? - this is the first time i have grown veg and I will probably leave them till they were like jacks beanstalk!

Not yet :D We pick our first indoor potatoes in June, then later in the month for the outdoor.

When did you plant the carrots and beetroot, and where in the country are you?

Hi there.More washing on the line-stripped DS1s bed and will bring it down soon so that the room is ready for the bed my ex sisIL is bringing this afternoon.Still really windy here and not as sunny, but should dry quick I think.

Swept and mopped and cleaned downstairs loo, will tidy kitchen in a mo,though its not too bad, then I can carry on with my sewing-yesterday I mended DSs jeans and a shirt.

Got engrossed in the low carb threads last night-didnt know they were there as I rarely leave OS,but spotted a post that had been moved. Will have a look at the recipe ideas again to see if I can cobble something up for tea.

    Beemuzed,thinking of you.x

    Beemuzed - sending hugs

MrsMW - little bear sends his virtual granny some gentle hugs. He is usually very gentle and his cuddles and lovely and snuggly. He still won't do kisses, however, and today it is not exactly that bad as he is green nosed. Again. He slept through to 9 this morning, after a nap yesterday afternoon and bedtime at 8pm. He is now looking tired. And green nosed and with a generous smear of toothpaste that I haven't managed to get off. I suspect we are starting yet another round of back teeth, and I shall be checking the gums. If no redness then it is doctor time.

Second lot of washing in. I am actually believing the weather forecast and the first lot is drying on the airer.

Mr S has just delivered. I have the rest of that to put away and some bananas to use up. Did you know that they make yarn from the bark of the banana tree? Some is on sale on ebay (which is my friend). I didn't buy it. I plan to make banana loaves.

Dear heart is out tonight, so I am going to have tea with little bear and it is going to be fish fingers, instant mash and frozen peas - all of which I adore, little bear quite likes and dear heart only enjoys on his own terms. I know I am an oddity liking instant mash, but with dear heart out I intend to fill my boots!

Hester - I quite envy you the ballet. I have only been to see one, which was Dracula. I didnt' expect so many of the audience to be 'dressed' as it were, and I quite enjoyed looking round and seeing who was looking like what before the ballet. In the interval I handed back a programme to a nice lady who had dropped it and it turned out to be a nice gentleman. I have no problem with people being people, but when it takes me by surprise I always feel a little on the back foot. I really loved the ballet, however, and would go again in a shot.

Meanmarie - do you have anything like a playpen or a dog cage or could you borrow one. Perhaps that will allow Thunder to have a little company while resting his poorly toe. Also if they meet after the other little one (:o sorry can't remember name) has been truly tired out after a game of chase the feather/piece of string/rolled up tin foil. It is hard for little ones to be alone.

Penelope Penguin - congratulations to your daughter and I hope you have a marvellous time in Venice.

Hugs to all - sorry if I have missed anyone.

Edited to add - evil cat is still not resigned to eye drops.

Thanks so much for all the kind thoughts - it does mean a great deal to me. You'd think the passage of time would lessen the grief, but it's always ready to bubble up to the surface, especially on significant days - and May is full of those. I always breathe a sigh of relief when June arrives.
So, onwards and upwards, as they say.
Today is dull, and, frankly, cold here - what happened to the sunshine?
Loads of stuff I should be doing, but I'm being kind to myself just now. Have to collect the Christian Aid envelopes today tho' as tomorrow we visit DS2 (currently in hospital again) and on Friday we leave for a wedding in Shropshire at the w/e. Why do I agree to collect - it's a job I hate with a passion!
Should finish the ironing today, and make another loaf to freeze for when we get back. Lunch will be some homemade soup and supper will be in the remoska, but don't know exactly what yet. Am chairing a church committee meeting tonight for the first time - it will be like being back at school! Just hope the others are kind, as it's all new to me -comes with the churchwarden hat!
The dogs are looking at me as if to ask why I'm sitting down rather than fastening their leads....I shall try to ignore this for a bit longer....

Hi, a beautiful day here. I've got one load of washing on the line and have given half the kitchen a really good clean. I'll finish the other half later on ;). Yesterday I had a good go at our bedroom and did some work from home. I'm just going to take DS2 to nursery and go into town to get some stuff sorted.
    Take care!

I don't know if anyone knows this, but I haven't had an envelope for Christian Aid, and I can't get to church (:o finding that tough), is it okay to donate on-line?
