We all have a moan about different lenders and the way some treat their customers so why don't we have a thread purely to have a moan about a paricular lender and what they've done to upset you so much.
This thread could turn out to be quite amusing with some horror stories attached......
We have to be careful of libel so make sure any entries are factual and not slanderous!

I've just had a grovelling letter back from SDFS due to them adding a default against me for a debt that wasn't mine!
Goes along the lines of 'we are sincerely sorry for any inconvenience caused' - I mean, inconvenience? Are they for real - a default is more than a bloody inconvenience!
So I thought i;d be cheeky and write back asking for an account with them as their way of apologising! I'll update progress when I get news from them......2010 - year of the troll

I have always found that lenders are generous to a fault.
E.G. One of them gave me a £15,000 limit at 0% interest for a year and then at the end of the year another one let me transfer the balance, at no cost, to their card for a further year. What more could you ask?
Credit them with some generosity...0 -
Marbles and Halifax.
Marbles because they have no idea what they are doing; there is a massive communication breakdown in their offices, whether that's because they were bought out I don't know or care, but it affects the way they deal with their customers.
Halifax because they charged me £130 for processing a debit card payment that was £11.00 short. I had no idea what was going on as I opted for paperless statements (to try and save the planet, but because of this fiasco, never again) and rarely used the card so didn't check my account for a while. In my view they should have declined the payment if there wasn't enough money in there (there was no overdraft on the account either), instead they charged me then kept charging me. Disgusting behaviour.0 -

I think that most CC companies are pretty switched on and professional. I have never had a problem to date. I do always run my accounts well, in the eyes of a consumer rather than a lender. I am not loyal to them, yet have used their servies such as fraud protection and purchase insurance on many occasions.
There are far worse companies out there in terms of customer service. Icredit cards
I'm going for my QuidCo £million!

£130? They must have sent letters regardless of paperless billing. I still recieve my bank charges even though my statements are online0 -
Yeah, I am sure you would... But if it'sn anything like when it happened to me with NatWest, then the letter went in the post for nearly a month!! By the time I got it, the DD that I thought was canceled and caused the issue in the first place was tried to be taken out of my account again so NatWest charged me again and then again when they tried to take their charges (for being overdrawn) out...
Result??
£84 in charges for £9 phone bill...
(that was current account thought)0 -
Egg.....I don't understand why the internet banking is so rubbish. It takes ages for transactions to appear, you can't see anything pending.
Maybe I'm picky but I can assure you that there were online banking facilities better than Egg's back in the 18th century.0 -
thanks guys - keep em coming!

I would have said MBNA at first. Constant phone calls asking for money even when an agreement for a set amount per month has been agreed. Like talking to the wall. But they never put a default against my account which is a bonus.
I would have to say Egg. Because they passed my account to Moorcroft even though I always agreed I would pay them every month. Moorcroft are a bunch of idiots. I overpaid them by £700 and they continued to send me letters threatening legal action saying I owed them that amount. In the end they eventually realised they owed me the money not the other way around but it took 5 months to resolve. Felt like pulling my hair out with them so I blame Egg for giving such people my personal details.0
