I joined last week, and downloaded the software. I've noticed the last couple of days that IE crashes more regularly. I'm not convinced these two things are connencted but it is certainly possible. I'm looking into it.

I would not touch this with a bargepole, it installs software that effectively goes between you and your browser.

It scans every webpage that you go to for adverts. INCLUDING any online e-mail accounts or banks. And you have to take as read that they will disregard any personal information.

do you trust any company that far.

Also it is very likely that it will interfere with your browsing experience, by slowing down or crashing the web!!!

Its not worth risking it for a couple of "points", stick to the online surveys!

I got sent an email with that too. I'm not going to download it. I always ignore survey invites like that as I don't like any software messing with my computer.

I HAVE downloaded and my advice is......DON'T! It messes with IE something crazy, makes the pages jump around anytime you click on anything and logging on to the PC from scratch takes about ten times as long.:mad::mad:

I am running Vista Business with IE 7, so it may be different for others, but it basically messed things around so bad I immediately uninstalled it. Even so, it still took a few reboots before everything came back as before, nearly had a heart attack, thought I was going to have reinstall Windows or restore back to yesterday or something, luckily it didn't come to that.

The software is called GACELA and I haven't been able to find out anything about it on Google. It sounds evil.

I wouldn't touch anything that wanted to install something on my machine (in any case I use a Mac and Firefox so probably wouldn't work).

However I've found Lightspeed pretty good - £10 in about 6 weeks.

A few that I haven't qualified for but they only asked a few (3-5) questions to rule me out.

You do need to move pretty quick with a few surveys though as I've had a few which I couldn't complete as they'd filled their quota.

    Lightspeed panel.

Took a 20 minute survey. 75% of the way through, 15 minutes in, and after after answering similar questions on different products, the survey then decided that i didnt meet the criteria and kicked me off.

After several emails, many which were just ignored, i got a standard cut and paste email which was just not satisfactory.

Tried to join Lightspeed and got told straight away I was not suitable!
I guess because I listed my residence as living with my father, he is the primary income earner (retired).
Oh well... at least I know I am honest ;) ps I am 45 and working from home self-employed. But I guess that doesn't count for alot???

Welcome to the forums, Susan!

Try not to be disheartened. There are many survey sites out there and not all target the same demographic. The other threads should give you some idea of what is available and how popular they are.
