I;'ve given up on these survey sites.

I've been around on the internet for the best part of 20yrs and started off early with the likes of some of your supposed top payers - however I always seem to fall into the "you don't qualify" trap and consequently in all my years of doing surveys I've only once hit the threshold and then had to chase the payment of £25 and my wife has once been selected to trial a product which we had to return!

Were the questions in DOS? :rotfl:

If you are receiving income from these surveys what is the tax status of this. Don't want to do them and be hit with tax on them. I read somewhere they aren't subject to tax, but is that correct- didn't see any mention in Martin's article (unless I missed it!:o)?

I wonder if anyone knows anything about the cookies that Valued Opinions now use
I had an email from them about it some time ago.

This is on their home page
"Research Now uses Cookies in relation to ensure that it collects information to assist with the provision of its services. If you have any questions about our use of Cookies, please refer to our Privacy Policy

I've also had an email from another survey company saying they will be using AdTracker and the cookies will be transferred to my computer the next time I log in.

    Thanks

I believe they do send an email. I know valued opinions actually send the code in the post which is a bit silly...and costly!

Actually Valued Opinions send it electronically ie. by email. I ordered an amazon voucher recently and I got it within 5 minutes of ordering it.

You can log into your account with MySurvey and opt out of AdTacker. I just did so and cleared my cookies.

I think you mean TNS mysurveys?

One question i have been meaning to ask - I am on IPSOS however they never say the number of points I get form a survey, only you will be entered into a prize draw. Yet I seem to get some random points- how much are the surveys actually worth?

Sorry, referral links and suggestions are only permitted on the Referrers Board so posts containing referral links have been removed from this thread.

Oops sorry I meant Mysurvey thanks.

In regards to Ipsos, I get two types of emails. One stating points will be credited to my account but never how much, and the other stating I will be entered into a prize draw. I make sure I do all the paying surveys before I complete any prize draw surveys.

Funny thing is I had to go through over a hundred survey emails today as I had let them pile up and when I was doing the Ipsos ones it occurred to me that they never tell you how much points you'll receive, a bit cheeky.

I make about 1000 points every four months with them and never had a problem cashing in so can't complain.

    Hello again,

It is Valued Opinions that are using the cookies, they sent me an email a few months ago to say they would be using them, you'll find the note about it on their home page at the bottom.
Mysurvey was the other one that's now using them, I had an email from them a couple of days ago.

I wondered what you thought about it and if it was better to opt out. Perhaps they'll stop sending surveys if I do

Tickbox.net: You don't earn money but you get entered into prize draws and I do remember at least two occasions looking at the IWIWIW board on these forums and seeing people win prizes from it. I like the site too as it's easy to use and the surveys are interesting.

Focus4People: Never attended one of their focus groups but they do a lot in London and I'm always on the lookout in case there's one while I am there. They seem good though.

RPM Research: Been to 5 focus groups with them, helping shape new music releases, and the greatest hits of other artists. As an obsessive music fan, these focus groups have been great.

Panelbase: Good, but I don't know enough about them yet as I've only been with them a few months and not done a lot of surveys or redeemed a reward.

Opinion People: Been with them for years and not yet earnt a redemption but they seem OK.

MediaTransfer: Infrequent surveys means it takes forever to earn your redemption amount but I have redeemed once and received my reward fine.

Surveys.com: You earn iPoints for doing surveys. Not that many of them.

ACOP (American Consumer Opinions Panel): Despite the name, they don't mind where you're from and you get sent a cheque in £. Takes a few weeks though.

Novatris: You get prize draw entries from these, and there's not a lot of them. I thin they're originally based in France. I once won a £75 prize from them though.
