  • No, Tesco accept them in paymnt for groceries and of course Boots will take them in exchange for food. You can also opt to have the money go into Paypal.

I used to use them for groceries in Sainsbury's though occasionally did have to assure the people on the tills that they took them! I opted to receive it in PayPal as soon as I was able though so don't know the up to date position with them.

No but I have been questioned at Tesco they eventually took them. It's easier to havc them paid into Paypal I spent mine on Ebay.

One word of caution about Pinecone. They have recently thrown me off their panel.I couldn't log in and sent an email to Karen this the reply I got

    Doreen,

In reviewing your record, it shows that you have not been able to complete several product evaluation studies. Periodically, we remove names from the database of those we have not heard from on regular basis. We tried to contact you prior to removal.

Apart from 3 or 4 in mid December I have done all the surveys sent to me.I didn't think we were obliged to do every survey anyway?.I have searched my emails and there was no attempt to contact me.The only conclusion I can come to is, as I am now 60 I am no longer useful.Maybe someone can correct me on that assumption.?

Pinecone is a good company and I have been happy doing their surveys.I would recommend it.It's just unfortunate that this has happened to me.:(

I'm 62 and have been regularly receiving surveys. In fact I had one last week followed by a payment into Paypal a couple of days later. I have always completed all the surveys they send me though.

When I was away for 2 months I missed about 4 surveys. I arrived home to an email from Karen informing me as I had not completed any surveys for them or contacted them they will have to remove me from their database unless I got in touch. I promptly sent Karen an email explaining my situation and she thanked me for getting in touch and told me I would receive my next survey shortly. Have you tried sending her an email? she's always been very helpful to me with any queries or problems I may have with a product I have to evaluate.

Yes I did email her but it was only yesterday and to be honest I wasn't as polite as usual.I know she didn't try to contact me as I don't delete any emails from them.I am just going to accept it but I wanted to warn people what can happen.Anyway good luck to the rest of you, as I said it is a good site. Thanks for the help:)

Hi starstella, I think Pinecone are the only survey site I've come across who ask you to let them know when you are going on holiday so that they don't send you any surveys during that time and you aren't then listed as not responding. Whether this makes a difference or not I don't know - never have holidays. :-)
When they were first taken over by Neilsen's I noticed a bit of a difference in 'how they behave' and some of the emails, their look and headings, as well as the surveys, even now, look different. Some of those first emails went into my Spam folder and some now I almost miss because of how different they look but I get the same quick payment and response to emails again now.
I hope things get back to normal with Pinecone for you soon, imho they were the best when I first started doing their surveys in 2000/1 and still are.

When did you join last year, liamcov? Even if surveys aren't right for you, you should receive at least a couple of times a year an email from Karen reminding you of your agreement not to divulge any of the ideas you see during a survey. You will get this whether or not you have done any surveys so if you haven't had this type of communication or any "household" questions in the last 6 months I would definitely contact her.
I'd also refer you to my reply to starstella as some of the emails which have been sent in the last year aren't very obvious as being from Pinecone and can be easily missed.

That will teach me a lesson.I didn't know about the holiday thing.I am too idle to read terms and conditions:(.I have been with them a while and never had a problem but it looks like it's my own fault. After the email I sent yesterday I have blown it anyway.I wasn't rude but I was very terse for me.I agree it is the best site and you get paid promptly. Thanks again everyone:)
