So upset, think I've been done and don't know that I can do anything about it?!

Just picked up my 'new' car (from Motor City in Plymouth, name and shame!) which was supposed to have had a special protective treatment applied inside and out that would, according to the marketing leaflet, 'produce a showroom finish'. Supagard is it's name, super scam I'd like to rename it?!!

.........I feel like I've been well and truly sown up like a kipper! :money:

I queried with the salesman on handover of keys whether they had actually done anthing to the interior since I last took it out on thes test drives? He said yes the supagard protection had definately been done as promised, I again queried this, because as I saw it there was no visible difference to the interior, worse still there are marks and dust still in the car that were there when I test drove it (twice) last week?!! So how can you apply something to the interior facia, upholstery etc without disturbing any dust?!!

My DD and a close friend of mine both accompanied me separately last week on two different test drives...........So how big a lemon do I feel when both independently get back in the car and make the same comment. DD exclaims "I thought they said they were going to clean it with that special stuff mum?, they haven't even done a normal clean from what I can tell?! and my friend without prompting commented "Did you decided not to have the special protection thing done then J******?!":o:eek::o

So bloody angry and feel really upset!
I don't normally fall for sales patter, but stupidly put my trust and faith in the claims being made!! :o
There is no way I can prove it hasn't been done when they are claiming it has, it's an invisible bonded protection material ???  How convenient for them is that?!! should have know to stay well clear of such a potential con!

It strikes me that my car has had the most expensive quick T-cut polish exteriorly and the interior has had diddly squat done which is sickening, when I think of what I have forked out!!! (don't ask! I'm too embarrassed!! :o)

What would you do if you were me, other than what I think I may have to, that is roll-over except I've been mugged and chalk it up as a very expensive experience and seriously costly mistake due to letting my guard down during sales patter!!!!!

Go back and politely ask the salesman to check with the valeter that you car was done.

If he/she still comes back adamant that it has invite him to get a cup of coffee and chuck it over your car interior to prove that it has - he may change his mind at that point.

If your still not happy speak to the sales manager or dealer principle.

Supagard should come with bumph, and I believe I got a little pack with my car (shampoo, nice cloth in a little pack) but i'm not sure everyone gets it.

It should have cost about £350, it they were offering it for much less than that there is clearly something up.

You should make your complaint to the manager, and then to supagard, as its their wonder product which is getting the bad reputation. Presumably if they are selling supagard (which if i remeber needs special training) then they would be buying the equipment from supagard, if they aren't they it's a red flag to them.

    Hope this helps,

Couldn't agree more! Big difference is you can't claim this back, so is an even bigger scam in my eyes!

The very least I hope for other unsuspecting souls to read this and avoid being caught out themselves! It's really spoilt my pleasure of having splashed out on this car!!!

They charged £299!!!!!!!!!! Don't see how I've got any com-back seeing as it is an invisible material they are supposedly applying, but did expect to see a showroom type of finish which I definately haven't got, and I am wearing new glasses this week having had my eyes recently checked?! also was promised a touch up pack which didn't get! so in my eyes is a further indictment that car hasn't been touched!!

Hi, my OH says that if you put a small amount of plain water onto the seat upholstery or carpet the water should form a 'bead' sitting on top of the surface if the Supaguard has been done. If the water sinks in then its more than likely not been done.

The car should look like those shiny ones in the car showroom and water should bead on the outside. Google supagard for the fancy pictures and the like, basically it does work... the inside stuff is like scotchguard used to be (what ever happened to that stuff) it stops anything getting in.

You should be able to wash the car with just water really and it looks like its been polished and shined, to apply the coating the car needs to cleaned to within an inch of it's life. Also rub the paint with the back of your hand, it should feel smooth and polished (like a granite worktop) if it doesn't I would strongly suspect you've been had. If the dealer isn't interested then supagard should be.

That's how I know it hasn't been done, the interior is not shining in the slightest and all previous marks are still there on a dull matt finish.
The exterior I have run my hand over earlier and it didn't feel the least bit glossy, in fact I can feel the roughness of the ingrained road dirt!!

Just done a test on the interior with water, not a bead in sight, soaked right in immediately!!!:mad:

Will be going back in the morning to challenge them on this again! But what can I do if they just stick their heels in and claim they have done it?!!
