First Direct will give you a cheque guarantee card upon request.

I applied for a First Direct 1st Account last year when they had just moved over to the Visa Debit scheme. I was told that they no longer issue cheque guarantee cards automatically but would give me a £100 cheque guarantee facililty if I requested it. My card was re-issued and I got a new card with a cheque guarantee functionaility within a few days. Hope that helps!

Yup, though I don't want to replace my card at the moment. I just registered it with all the different sites e.g. PayPal etc

I called them today and they said they are not supposed to give them out but they will on request!!

Mine is on the way!!

However I will be closing my FD account this week so there is little point now!! LOL

So it does - just had a little look and round the hologram of WS it says cheque guarantee. How minimalist
