Hi linda, could i ask what petticoat i would need for this dress, its quite big already and all tulle skirt

Ooh, me too! Here is a pic of the dress without an underskirt and then the designer pic (how I want it to look).
I thought about Jupon 189 or similar, but that flares at the knee, whereas in the designer pic the dress begins to flare just below the drop waist, so I don't know if a fishtail petticoat will be enough. What do you think? I haven't had any luck finding a petticoat designed for drop waisted gowns and I really, REALLY don't want a hoop.“Listen to the mustn'ts, child. Listen to the don'ts. Listen to the shouldn'ts, the impossibles, the won'ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me... Anything can happen, child. Anything can be.”― Shel Silverstein0 -
linda i know you mentioned a petticoat for the maggie sottero adelaide but can you suggest one with out a hoop (or will i definitely have to go for one with?)
it's an original maggie sottero adelaide dress and if i can get away with out a hooped petticoat that would be great. i don't want a huge petticoat just enought to enhance the style of the dress.
thanks in advance :T0 -

I'd go for a 168 which are more ideal for the slimmer fitting 'A' line such as yours but I would hazard a guess this model is wearing a hoop, not just all tulle as in the 168.
If this is the case a 163 has 3 layers of net and 1 hoop but would suggest you try before you buy.0 -

A 168 doesn't have a hoop and as I said to Hannah is great for the slimmer 'A' line. HTH x0 -
Hello,
I am also looking for a bit of advice. I have ordered this dress, http://www.venusgowns.co.nz/viewgown.php?item=9540 does this need a petticoat? Any help would be great.
Thanks0 -

I have brought a lambert creations constance dress 2010 collection (i cant post links but if you google image it will come up) i was thinking of a jupon 189 petticoat would this work or would something else be better?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

just wanted to pop in and say thanks to linda for her advice, i ended up getting a jupon 163 on ebay which i could take the hoop out of if i didn't want the dress as full (contemplating keeping it in for the ceremony and photos and take it out for the eating and boogieing!)
haven't tried it on with the dress yet but have tried it on (makes me feel like the clanger in a bell lol).
but definitely wouldn't have been able to buy it online without the advice from linda :T0 -
Ooh, I'd love some advice too please if you have a moment?
I've ordered a Maggie Sottero Davida dress - in the shop I tried it on with a hoop which was good, but I'm a bit worried about actually sitting down in it.
I know you said that a M.S Adelaide could get away with a 168, but is this too slimline for the Davida? Sorry, I have absolutely no vision when it comes to imagining what the dress would look like with different slips underneath
I don't want the dress to be too flouncy, but I definitely want it to hold its shape and not fall flat.
Thanks!!
and woohoo- that was my first wedding-related post, how exciting!!Lead me not into temptation - I can find it perfectly well all by myself0
