Hi Linda, I bought this dress of eBay and was thinking of buying a Jupon 163 and detachable train, do you think it would be suitable.

    Hi Lisa.
The original is made using Duchess satin which is really quite heavy so a 122 would be perfect underneath, even stretching to a 128 if there is sufficient fullness in the skirt.

With your gown it doesn't look like duchess so I am going to assume it is a lighter weight satin. A 163 may be enough but i'd still look at a 122.

  • I'm after help from Linda too. My dress is Justin Alexander 8349. I think I probably need a jupon 163 or 165 but I'm not sure. Please could you advise
  • I forgot to add the petticoat I tried on with the dress in the shop was a blue ribbon, 4 layer 1 hoop petticoat, but blue ribbon seem to cost much more than jupon. I can't work out from the jupon site what's the difference between bones & hoops, & now I'm wondering if I need a 12something. Aaagggh

If it is this one then a 121
You want something to display the skirt without distorting. A 163 is quite full but without the hoop would be quite soft and nice. A 165 is too big! x
  • Thanks Linda. The one you linked had a slightly different skirt to my dress. Coz I'm a newbie I can't post links but its basically this link after google so
    w w w .google. co. uk/m/search?site=images&source=mog&hl=en&gl=uk&q=justin%20alexander%208349&sa=N#i=3

Hope that link will work! Would you say a 122 or a 163??
    Thanks for you help xxx
