It's sunny and windy at this end, perfect weather to do the washing.
The line's half full and I've run out of clothes pegs (I've lived here 8 months and never put washing on the outside line before  ) so I'm going to run to the hardware store down the road and buy some. Then as soon as the other load in the machine is done, I can fill the rest of the outside line and start on the inside one too. We have an 'conservatory' (read 'room with glass roof'
) which is boiling today so anything in there'll probably dry faster than the lot outside. Then on with the essay again.

Just reconciled my bank account for shop.:eek:
Stupid bank didn't set uo a DD in time for the landlord's rent at the start of April so I gave him a cheque. They then took out the DD in the middle of the month! Idiots.:mad:0 -
Bookie, aren't they idiots.
I once payed in my money, ensuring there would be sufficient for the quarterly rent to come out about 3 days later.
I then got a phone call from my landlord.....where's the rent.
When I checked with the bank, because I'd payed in cash and a cheque for about £6 on the same slip, they didn't credit the cash until the cheque cleared
Thankfully, my landlord was ok when I showed him my statement.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
Am back at home now...off for a lie down then to the docs later, need to get a sick note now too as I've been ill for more than 5 consecutive days - first time in my life - do they charge for them??0

And now my wholesaler is refusing to supply me as they say I am over my credit limit.
I hired 2 barcode readers off them for stocktaking at a cost of £50. They have raised and invoice for £1300 as a security deposit until they are returned. Chief accountant says doesn't affect credit limit. Tiny accountant won't press the button. E-mails are flying around. They probably share a desk.

No idea I'm afraid Becky............
I just had my piano tuned (long overdue!) and it had several other niggles, sticky keys/loose pedal etc.........anyway, the man was here 2.5 hours and I was thinking, uh-oh, this won't be cheap-and he charges me only £50! That was cheaper than the last time when i just had a straight tune!!!
Sorry for boring you with this, but I was expecting about £200!!!!Debt-free...and staying that way...0 -
no becky they dont charge - just as well as I've been getting monthly ones for 5 months now, desperate to get back to work.

Thanks Soup
I'm coming to the conclusion that it may be anaemia and I may have had it while - my running pace has been dropping off quite a bit recently and I just assumed it was workload but I've also been getting shortness of breath at much lower paces and been sleeping about 10 hours a night...it may just have been mild for a while and gotten worse after the marathon - see what they say this avo anyway!0 -
You only need a sick note if you've been off for more than 7 days (not working days) Becky - so if you've had 5 days off work plus the weekend, you'd need one from tomorrow. Your doctor shouldn't charge you for that. They do sometimes charge if you request one when you could have just self certified (up to 7 days), because that's a private sick note.
Never actually done it, so I *think* that's right.
Sorry - got distracted so was too slow!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250
