I hate doing my CV!!! I'm going to have to take it from 2 pages to 3 in order to fit everything in properly, but I'm finding it really hard! And apparently I have to include words like 'Exceeded' (well I can't exceed expectations or targets here because the former are unrealistic and the latter rarely get set!); mitigated (can do that... mitigated risk... but how many times can you repeat it?!); empowered (well, once you've done it once there is no need to do it again, and this is my first management role... although I'll have a think about whether I've done anything vaguely empowering in the past); created (yup... I'm very creative... not sure it's wise to tell them quite how creative I am at this stage though ;)); designed (again, hugely over-used word, but I'm bunging it in along with its old friend implemented )

Any other ideas would be gratefully received... Actually, a job paying £100k + that I can do without trying in 40 hrs a week and involves about 10% international travel to sunny places with no creepy-crawlies would be fab :D

I am so glad I don't have to do CVs anymore (and my last was in the days when you really only listed your qualifications and previous jobs)
I would hate to have to 'sell' myself

greenbee - if you find a job like that i'll fight you for it!! :rotfl: My plan for this afternoon is to a) read up on stuff I should know for the interview, policy etc and b) think about and make notes of key things i need to get across and examples of things I've done / might need to illustrate. I've also got 3 train journeys which I find are quite good for that kind of thing

If you want interview practice/advice, let me know... I can always interrogate you over the phone (I telephone screen all my candidates as it saves a lot of time and effort... if someone can't keep the phone call going for half an hour, it's probably not worth them coming in to not answer the questions properly face-to-face ). Remember, you should always be able to make your answers fit their questions... and chuck in some information that they may neglect to ask for but which you want to get across!

ETA - I've accidentally just answered the phone to my mother's step mother

Thanks greenbee, I tend to interview well and I am relatively clear on the things I want to get across. I'm one of 8 being interviewed (seems ridiculous to me to shortlist 8) and I need to persuade them that my mix of skills and experience and the great connections I have in the borough are what they want! But I might take you up on your offer!

    In my HHC I've

    Emptied and reloaded WM
Draped wet clothes around the rads after removing the clothes that were there
Sorted out the shoes for the hols - also found DS's new sandals which I bought him earlier in the year before we knew about his condition and it really kicked in - they're size 13 - he needs size 2! Looks like my nephew's sorted for Summer - so far this week he's had 3 pairs of trainers and a pair of Clarks shoes, all hardly worn and I've just found another pair of shoes as well! DS has always had my nephew's hend-me-downs and then they've gone back for his brother as my nephew is 6 months older than DS and has always been quite a bit bigger - now though DS is taller than he is and so I'll have to buy all his clothes as by the time my nephew's grown out of his DS will be too big for them!

Wobbly Wednesday - Living room, hall, stairs and porch!
    DONE AT LAST!!! :j:j:j

Finally doing some flying at last after a 'can't be bothered to do anything feeling' all week.

The state of the house was making me feel even worse so I am glad I have made a start. The mould spray in working in the bathroom and the bleach is working on the toilet.

    Bathroom next and then bedroom

3 lots of washing done and another lot ready to go, then a whipround in the spare room and a quck S+S in the kitchen, I'll be cooking for most of today so will tackle that tomorrow

It's made me a bit more motivated now I've posted again.

I'll catch up with the thread tonight if I get chance - big hugs go out to all of you and hope you are flying well and happy too
